One of my favorite bits from @t3dotgg 's video about not using Kubernetes is that engineers like @ThePrimeagen who can write high performance stuff are expensive AF. My personal takeaway is a bit different from the intended message though, because I'm looking at it through the lens of building a great software engineering career rather than a startup. My takeaway? Hard things (as long as they're useful) pay really well. Learning k8s (or any other hard in-demand skill) can make *you* expensive. Don't you want to be expensive? The way to be expensive is by obtaining skills that are hard to learn and broadly useful. If it's not useful, there's no demand. If it's not hard, there's too much competition. I'll probably convert this into an article later
