John Byrne is a damn legend in the comic industry. Heather Antos is an editor who can't even catch typos and an even worse writer who failed up by screaming sexism every time she gets criticized. I'm not even a big X-men fan and I'm tempted to buy this now out of spite for her

@LobsterTimes @divedeepdavid I think what frustrates Rob (and often myself) is that some of the modern audience will rave about the latest issue of some title, while completely discounting the classics of the past, or even refusing to acknowledge them. It is indeed a question of taste.

The recent controversy surrounding JRJR’s Spiderman #1000 cover has really exposed a bigger issue of modern comic art: coloring isn’t matching art style. Certain art styles shouldn’t be colored, rendered in a gradient way. Bold art deserves bold coloring and lighting.

My 2 cents on the Spider-Man #1000 cover drama: many of the crucial details John Romita Jr drew into the original pencils got blotted out in the coloring/rendering process: the tension btwn his neck & shoulders, the shape of his head & eyes & torso & thighs…that’s the problem

DC Comics’ Blockbuster custom, based off of his appearance in @Dixonverse ’s and Scott McDaniels’ untoppable NIGHTWING run.
This custom uses a headsculpt from Bighead Studios Customs, a Mr. Fixit Marvel Legends figure, and hands from a Mr. Hyde BAF.
I kind of like the white eyes… but I may yet paint the eyeballs in.

Pulling this cover away for asm 1000 is so disrespectful to the creators that made Spider-Man who he is today. You may not like the cover but the significance of the pose and the artist is enough for it to be the A cover... Shame on yall to complain, im making a vid on this tmr.
