is it a big job to just create an open source chat app that has the same features as discord but uses servers instead that are incredibly cheap or something..? I would literally pay nitro prices for server rental and if it has screenshare and shit I wouldn't care

@ArtonRL I'm just thinking I pay for nitro purely so I can have a decent server for a group of mates- surely I can pay that for an app with the same features with more privacy? and I guess less of a paywall for others? idk lemme hear it

@dot_zer I get it, but all it restricts is channels marked as NSFW and stages (whatever that is?) it’s been implemented in the UK since the online safety act started getting implemented. A discord competitor is heavily needed though as they’re getting away with a lot.
