An evening I will cherish forever.
For 119 weeks, we stood together, until our final hostage, the body of Ran Gvili, was brought home for burial. We screamed, prayed and cried for every soul, including Guy Gilboa Dalal, one of the many we held close in our hearts and thoughts.
To meet him today in London, thanks to @StopTheHate_UK and @StandWithUsUK, was truly an honour. He is a warrior, a beautiful soul with what can only be described, as the evening so fittingly named, an unbreakable spirit.
To see him smile after 738 horrific days in captivity where he was shackled, starved, beaten and sexually abused, is a joy beyond words and never something to take for granted.
He is an extraordinary human being a light, a gift to this world.
He is utterly victorious.
Continue to heal, to rise, and to thrive, brave and brilliant Guy.

Somalia’s president is a major antisemite.
For 36+ years, not a single Somalian politician has stepped foot into the Republic of Somaliland.
Why? Because if they tried to enter, they’d be arrested immediately. They’re treated like a terrorist-hostile failed state, yet they still attempt to claim control over our territory.
In this video, the President of Somalia expressed his profound disappointment that Gideon Sa’ar, the Israeli Foreign Minister, a Jewish man, visited our capital, Hargeisa, while his own government is unable to do so.

Palestinian FA president Jibril Rajoub refused to stand alongside the Israeli FA vice-president, Basim Sheikh Suliman at the 76th FIFA congress.
The first step in conflict resolution is dialogue, building relationships and trust. A small insight into the willingness of Palestinian leaders to directly engage. Rajoub wouldn’t even stand beside his Israeli counterpart. Of course, his principal international engagement is lobbying for support to boycott & exclude Israeli football teams from international competitions. He is committed to exacerbating division not conflict resolution.

Wonder is there a single journalist or broadcaster in Ireland who will ask one of the latest flotilla participants to detail
* who funds the organisation that resources the flotilla?
* the ownership of the flotilla boats?
* the totality of & type of aid on the flotilla?
* to explain who paid for the aid & its origin?
*why they are not willing to deliver the aid through Ashdod Port or a humanitarian organisation already aiding Gaza?
* why if concerned about Gaza they do not advocate support for the UNSC approved peace plan & criticise Hamas obstruction of its implementation & refusal to disarm?
Just asking.

Collective trauma surely shapes Irish history and memory, but the ways in which it has done so has shifted over time (I would say the same for Jewish history and identity)
If one looks at Irish history through a broad lens, one will find that politicians/activists didn't usually refer to the Great Famine/Hunger as a motivation for contemporaneous Irish attitudes vis-a-vis foreign affairs and the world at large.
That seems to have dramatically changed with the rise of populist, internet "historians" who have simply recast aspects of Irish history to serve a political narrative — one that I reckon Hickey supports, in which Irish suffering is equated with Palestinian suffering
Liam Kennedy discusses some of this in his great collection of scholarly essays on Irish republican identity, the Famine, and Jewish history
One could imagine a narrative, based on collective memory, that would equate Irish history with Jewish history. Indeed, that was something some early Irish nationalists did quite frequently. The fact that it's not a popular narrative now doesn't nullify its power, so much as demonstrate that collective memory is never static
I would also suggest that people examine how the Great Famine/Hunger is remembered in the Diaspora, especially the USA — after all, those who fled on ships in perilous conditions ended up on American shores and built new lives in the shadow of horrendous suffering

Whenever someone from Gaza reaches out to me to ask for a donation, I ask whether they have heard of Vivian Silver, who dedicated her life to helping the people of Gaza and was then murdered and burned alive by the people of Gaza on October 7th.
Not once was there a response of remorse, regret, shame, or any kind of sympathy to her. Not once.

You’ve probably seen the claim that the Talmud lets Jews do whatever they want to non-Jews, including kill them.
It’s a lie.
We collaborated with the Accidental Talmudist/IG to break down the ancient passage being twisted, what it leaves out, and why it was never a license to murder.
Stop “learning” about the Talmud from people who hate Jews.

Now the IDF best watch out - they will never have faced a threat like this before. The Irish government might just dispatch our one ship - if there's not a childcare crisis - to show them pesky Zionists whose boss...

As the world focuses on the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, inside Iran the regime is intensifying its brutal repression of the people.
Since mid March they have accelerated the execution of political prisoners. 22 people have been hanged, half of them were involved in the huge anti-government protests in January. And hundreds more could face death penalty charges. And the Irish & other EU governments remain totally silent as the executions escalate.
