Live in Exclusives. A remarkably well-preserved 'Four-Liner' gilt dial ref. 5512 Submariner. At 1962 and after, the 5512 became the Chronometer-certified Submariner which sold at premium in period. Since, Rolex have confirmed that the 5512 is approximately 10 times rarer than the non-Chronometer 5513 via production numbers. This has seen the 5512 find a new collecting base in recent years, as the ultimate of its category. This gilt example is beautifully preserved with the sort of light, honest patina that gives beautiful character to vintage. hairspring.com/products/5512-…

@hairspringwatch what other watches 'might' be the most gorgeous?
English

Finds. A Black Galvanic Dial 6238, the Pre-Daytona equivalent of a Paul Newman. This is an incredibly attractive example, from dark tritium to the brushing on the case. If you were to submit a question to a Q&A what the most gorgeous chronograph made was, this might be my answer. Often seen with a silver dial, almost never seen in this spec. Knockout. hairspring.com/blogs/finds/bl…

Finds. A Mark 2 1655 ‘Frog Foot’ dial Explorer II, or the Reinhold Messner as I like to call it. Decidedly, it is not to be called the Steve McQueen. Originally for Spelunkers, now for the absolutely four-digit Rolex obsessed amongst us. This is one of the most attractive ways you’ll ever see the same time displayed twice. That orange hand is one of the greatest, most frequently referenced design cues Rolex has ever made. A lovely and honest example of the breed in the US today. hairspring.com/finds/mark-2-f…

Finds. A perfectly pumpkin 1016 Explorer with a mark 3 dial. This is from the center of the matte dial years, but made fantastic simply by age. The 1015 is the Explorer that has brought the greatest number of enthusiasts into vintage, the simply perfect design has a widespread appeal that has a way of sucking you in. That’s a good thing. It is classless, capable, and collected. Plus, this particular one is lovely. hairspring.com/finds/mark-3-d…

Finds. It looks like a common or garden 1601, it isn’t. This is white gold 1601/9, on a President, with a linen dial featuring very lovely and unique faceted indices. Very few Datejusts were made in white gold, simply because the price was so near a Day-Date by then. But this is one of very few that were ordered and it’s spectacular. hairspring.com/finds/linen-di…
