@mikedinslc @WarMonitor3 What has Argentina done? We have fought in Korea, Iraq, Afghanistan and defended allies in Iran. Please answe?
English

@droppingwell1 @WarMonitor3 Finally, the UK did the minimum for it's "ally".
English

@mikedinslc @WarMonitor3 70% of your Bomber force is flying unrestricted from UK bases so what ha Argentina done?
English

@droppingwell1 @WarMonitor3 About the same as our NATO allies, or better when you consider that they haven’t tried to sabotage our efforts.
English

@sillynotabsurd @WarMonitor3 Not really, only the Yanks are on about this . The Argies know they are no where near.
English

@droppingwell1 @WarMonitor3 In total numbers, sure. In terms of "set sail in the morning with every ready ship" the numbers are almost exactly equal.
English

@droppingwell1 @WarMonitor3 When I spoke of optics it wasn't about fleet size but the ability of portions of that fleet leaving port and going to sea for action. Inside of the last 50 days the British Navy didn't seem to pass the optics of being a functional sea worthy Navy.
English

@Coriolanus9000 @WarMonitor3 Their president has said they will only be able to get them through diplomacy they know they can't take them never mind hold them.
English

I dont know if they'll make a move. Hopefully not.
My main point is if they do, they UK isnt prepared. So the UK should prepare.
Yes, they can make that many drones. ARG is far more wealthy and industrialized than Iran. They could produce hundreds per month at a minimum. Israel is 400 miles from Iran and still subject to drone attacks.
English

@Coriolanus9000 @callum_rainford @WarMonitor3 Are you saying the US will go to war over the Falklands? 🤣
English

@droppingwell1 @callum_rainford @WarMonitor3 How big is the US navy? Have they opened the strait of Hormuz?
Those 15-20 UK ships have to cover all British territory, not just the Falklands. At least a third of them are currently in refit (inactive). Mine sweepers arent going to help you in the South Atlantic.
English

@droppingwell1 @WarMonitor3 That sounds optimistic based on recent optics. However, let us hope your observations are correct.
English

@PupsDillinger @JoshUTM2004 @British_Enjoyer @PolitlcsUK @Reuters Battle of Britain was already won in 1940 before the US turned up the Germans were never going to take us after that. So no.
English

🚨 NEW: The US is considering a review of its stance on the Falkland Islands as punishment for the UK not supporting the war on Iran
[@Reuters]
English

@Dont_drink_it @British_Enjoyer @PolitlcsUK @Reuters Out of interest how has Argentina been helping the US in the Iran war to get this new support?
English

@British_Enjoyer @PolitlcsUK @Reuters Your PM and our president just hate each other. It's just noise and it will pass. Behind the scenes we are still close allies. 🇺🇸🇬🇧
English

@British_Enjoyer @JoshSmith1979T @PolitlcsUK @Reuters Trump literally removed a massive threat to the UK and UK was nowhere to be seen.
The fact that the U.S. can decide the fate of falklands suggests that we were never in control.
🤷
English

@PolitlcsUK @Reuters How have Argentina helped the US in the Iran war to get this support ?
English

Argentina needs to seize the Falklands. Islas Malvinas.
Polymarket@Polymarket
NEW: Javier Milei declares the Falkland Islands — currently under UK control — “were, are, and will always be Argentine.”
English

@Coriolanus9000 @WarMonitor3 They arent talking, the US have raised this. The Argentine president knows he couldn't take them never mind hold them. The Falklands are over 300 miles from Argentina do they have that many medium/long range drones?
English

I'm not saying the British garrison is nothing, British troops are great.
But the Argentines are definitely tempted, otherwise they wouldnt be talking.
A dedicated drone campaign by ARG, like in Ukraine or Hormuz, would exhaust the entire British AA stockpile in weeks. It would exhaust the local garrison stockpile in days. The position is not at all viable with current UK readiness rates.
English

@droppingwell1 @Coriolanus9000 @WarMonitor3 Fact is there is still only 1 little ship protecting it, I dont know what Argentina has navy wise but Im sure its more than enough to overwhelm whats there and then we'd have to wait weeks for government meetings before we even think about sending more ships.
English

@Coriolanus9000 @callum_rainford @WarMonitor3 First time we had to recover the islands this time we won't we will be defending them its far easier.
English

@callum_rainford @droppingwell1 @WarMonitor3 Yes, and anti shipping drone and missile tech have proliferated. The UK has certain advantages such as F35s. But it wont be easier than the first time. It will be harder.
English

@Coriolanus9000 @WarMonitor3 The Argies arent tempted, they have said it would have to be diplomatic. The current garrison has AA & anti ship missiles and is backed by Typhoons. Argentina wouldn't be able to take them in the first place now. It would be a totally different war this time.
English

Love the UK. Don't support Argentina making moves, but we live in the real world. The idea that it is the USA's responsibility to protect British island holdings is absurd.
No one other than the UK is stopping the UK from deploying a task force the Falklands to defend it.
The only reason Argentina is feeling tempted to move is because the UK has no credible deterrence. They dont believe the UK is even capable of doing anything about it. Not because the have a handful of 20th century jets.
English

@tracks1982 @WarMonitor3 Yes of course but in a time of war they wouldn't be in for routine maintenance or fit outs. The UK subs would be hunting their Destroyers from day 1 and they would go the same was as their US made Cruiser did in 1982.
English

@droppingwell1 @WarMonitor3 Thats total numbers, not operational. lol...that ship of the line is going to come in handy.
English

@Poison_tears91 @Madmechanic911 @Alexarmstrong It would be totally different and I dont like Starmer.
This issue has arisen due to the US saying we have not helped on Iran despite 70% of your bomber force flying unrestricted from UK bases.
So how have Argentina been helping the US in Iran to get this new support?
English

@Madmechanic911 @Alexarmstrong You’d think that but yet, a British ship was just fired on by Iran and he sat on his hands and British sovereign land was targeted by Iranian missiles and he also sat on his hands. So I’d be SHOCKED if that would be any different.
