Today, the Kano State Ministry of Women Affairs, Children & Persons with Special Needs, with dRPC, held its inception meeting for the Grannies Network for Change (G-NEC) (the KAKA Project) 2026–2027. Across Kano and Jigawa, this initiative will mobilize grandmothers to challenge harmful norms, reduce GBV, and support girls to stay in and complete secondary school. An intergenerational approach. Community-led solutions. Measurable impact. @FordFoundation @chichiaokoye @FMWA_ng #EndGBV #GirlsEducation #CommunityAction #dRPC #GNEC #KAKAProject

As we reflect in the days following World Health Day 2026, the conversation on equitable access to healthcare remains as urgent as ever. “There are husbands that don’t like their children to be immunized; they are zero-dose children… he will never accept it, and he will never listen… they are very strict, they never cooperate.” – VCM Panshekara This statement reminds us that the challenge of zero-dose children goes beyond the availability of vaccines. It speaks to deeper social and cultural dynamics, where household decision-making, trust, and beliefs shape whether a child receives life-saving immunization. Despite ongoing efforts by government, civil society, and private sector actors, the question remains: why do zero-dose children still exist? Insights from dRPC’s 2024 research in Kano State (drpcngr.org/zero-dose-chil…), presented at the RI Partners Meeting in April 2025, reveal that resistance is often tied to trust gaps, gender roles, and limited community engagement strategies that fail to reach key decision-makers. Even after World Health Day, the call to action continues: We must listen more. We must engage differently. We must build trust intentionally. Because reaching every child requires reaching every household. #worldhealthday2026 #zerodosechildren #immunizationforall #healthequity #drpc #communityengagement

Today, on World Health Day 2026, we align with the global call to act “Together for health. Stand with science.” At dRPC, research is not just a function; it is foundational to how we design and implement our interventions. We prioritize data, evidence, and science-driven approaches to address complex health and development challenges across Nigeria. With over three decades of experience, dRPC has established itself as a leading health-focused civil society organization, delivering 18 public health projects in partnership with global and national stakeholders, including the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, United States Agency for International Development implementing partners such as Management Sciences for Health, and family foundations like the David and Lucile Packard Foundation. As part of our continued commitment to advancing science-led solutions, dRPC recently convened a high-level side session at the Nigerian Academy of Science Annual Conference 2026. The session brought together key actors across government, the health sector, research institutions, funding organizations, scientists, and medical practitioners to examine “Scaling MMS for Maternal Health Impact in Nigeria.” Discussions focused on critical issues, including barriers to local production, levels of awareness, and distribution challenges, with support from Sight and Life Foundation. As we mark this year’s campaign, we reaffirm our commitment to standing with science, strengthening trust in public health systems, and supporting evidence-based solutions for a healthier future for all. Still celebrating women and our “Giving to Gain” efforts in line with this year’s theme, the NECA Network of Entrepreneurial Women (NNEW), through dRPC's NGO Support Initiative (NSI) project, awarded grants of ₦100,000 each to 25 female petty traders at Mile 12 International Market in Kosofe Local Government Area, Lagos State. These grants followed targeted training and stakeholder collaboration and were designed to support business expansion while improving the livelihoods of the beneficiaries, their families, and their communities. This work reflects a long-standing commitment and remains a core part of our organisational approach to advancing women’s economic empowerment. #InternationalWomensDay #IWD2026 #givetogain #dRPC #NSI #Womenempowerment #CSOs

Today, we celebrate the strength, resilience, and leadership of women serving in public offices in North-East Nigeria. Through the Women in Leadership training program supported by @giz_gmbh, women leaders continue to build the capacity, confidence, and collaboration needed to shape more inclusive and responsive governance. Today, we honour every woman who chooses service, leadership, and community impact. Your work is opening doors and creating lasting change for the generations that follow. When women lead, communities move forward. #InternationalWomensDay #dRPC #womeninleadership #GiveToGain #IWD2026

dRPC was in attendance at the SPRiNG Annual Learning Summit, held in Abuja from 27–28 January 2026, joining over 200 stakeholders to reflect on what is working and what needs to change in Nigeria’s peace and resilience efforts. Key takeaway: peacebuilding is most effective when it is locally grounded, gender-responsive, climate-aware, and linked to livelihoods, with women and youth at the centre. #SPRiNGNigeria #Peacebuilding #WomenPeaceSecurity #dRPC #ClimateResilience

This week on CSOs Week by the Numbers, we break down technology-facilitated gender-based violence against women in Nigeria, revealing low reported prevalence, sharp urban-rural and regional disparities, and the dominance of anonymous perpetrators in digital spaces. Access alone is not the issue, safety, accountability, and reporting systems are key. Read more on Digital threats to women in politics here: drpcngr.org/digital-threat… #CSOsWeekbyNumbers #dRPC #Nigeria #education #cocreatingeducation
