@drewsoph17 Recall his author's note--the misspellings are intentional (he's writing in dialect). The vulgar part is the use of the N-word, which is jarring. Defenders of Twain would say that's part of the verisimilitude (what other word would a white kid from Missouri use in 1845?) #KHSEye

#KHSEye I felt the author was compelled to write this book to show more about Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn as the live. Since it kind of a series both books connect with each other.
