This won't fix the issue which is there are no roles for adolescent black men getting written and developed right now, British people weren't stopping him from working because there was nothing written or getting produced that he could actually play.
The lack is in opportunities, the pie should be big enough for all to eat and that's just not the case. Every now and then a When They See Us or Moonlight will get developed but it leaves nothing for the actors in those roles because those roles are scarce. This is a scarcity issue and turning on English actors won't fix anything.

This is why I kind of resent British black actors taking up so much space in American art. There are many young Black American actors who deserve a chance & are being sidelined. Until they are being prioritized, I think some of the roles British black folk take should be given to American actors first.
