"I don't want to work to make someone else rich". This is the complaint I see quite often from entitled, privileged, spoiled young people. This is what capitalism means to them. Making someone else wealthy. Here's what capitalism should really mean. To begin with you aren't stuck working as an employee. You can move on to better higher paying jobs if you have skills the market values. You can get promoted and make more money. Become invaluable to your company and it's easy to get a raise. But a much better plan is to acquire skills and knowledge as an employee, save your money, and then start your own business. If you own a business your earning potential has no limit. The vast majority of small businesses begin this way. An employee deciding he can strike out on his own. Many fail, but some succeed. Some succeed to an astounding degree. This is what capitalism does. It gives you the opportunity to succeed if you are willing to sacrifice and take risk.
