That’s 2 from 2 from @RebeccaEMenzies Juvenile the 5lbs penalty wasn’t enough to stop #Adonius although it wasn’t 7L today #KaiyaFraser kept it simple from the front and although @Tony123Coyle #Rlasthope got within a neck of the winner. ADONIUS was always holding the runner up. #Rlasthope was always being held by the winner but just as expected made a huge improvement from his Brocklesby Run. Well backed just before the off @karl_burke #PennyArcade just was never in the race, drawn stand side the two with experience broke better, she settled 3L behind the winner and as the 3rd #PonteCarlo came alongside her @samjock22 just seem to except the loss and on hands and heels got his mount over the line, She must be better than this am I’m sure Karl will be disappointed, His next juvenile runner is #BluestoneLady under the same ownership as Penny Arcade, she is Entered at the four day stage 2.25 Beverly on Wednesday.. @RebeccaEMenzies said post race .. she was thankful the owners let her race today as after his win the offers came in and now even more. Norman’s Cay the winner of the first 2yr old race of last season . Broke a leg on his very next start at Epsom and was put down. Gewan Timeforms top rated juvenile of last season put down on Thursday after breaking a leg during a training gallop at Kempton. Flat horses do sadly get put down. Although I have jump racing on constantly as it’s on the channels I view I don’t bet on jump racing as the form doesn’t stack up as well as flat and also whereas the flat only has mainly each other to beat jumps by it’s very nature has 2-4ft obstacles to overcome and as much as I may make flippant comments I can’t stand to see a horse hurt. People in racing do care about the horses, Every loss is felt at the stable it belonged to.

The opening race 3.45pm @MusselburghRace only sees 4 go to post but it’s not as Clear cut as it may look. Yes the standout Form is last Saturday’s 12-1 course and distance winner #Adonius who was a 7L easy winner for @RebeccaEMenzies Her gelding is put up 5lbs for that victory. The other previous runner in the field is @tonycoyleracing Rajaslinghe gelding #Rlasthope his form reads 5th of 15 beaten 6 1/4L in the opening race of the season The Brocklesby over 5F @DoncasterRaces but what that form doesn’t say was the gelding broke well, took cover and would of got closer had his run not been blocked by #BillTheBull and then bumped twice for good measure @DavidNo45583497 steered his mount home under hands and heels the final 50 yards David keeps the ride today and he receives 5lbs from Adonis. His sire Rajasinghe had a good winner on Friday for @RHughesracing #ThamesWaterman. After the disappointment of his first juvenile runner on Wednesday the 5/4F #FinalAppeal who was beaten a neck. @karl_burke sends #PennyArcade all the way to the Scottish track. This Ardad Filly was bought by Karl and his daughter along with Nick Bradley for £30k and races in his colours this afternoon. The filly receives 10lbs from Adonius with Ardad known for producing speedy early type Juveniles. Karl had #ClearForce 10/11Fav beaten on debut in this race last year. But won at 1/4Fav Next Time Out. Completely the line up of 4 is the @EasterbyTim £6.5K Soldiers Call Colt #PonteCarlo this will be The stables 3rd Juvenile runner with neither of the previous two troubling the judge. Rbflying & Turnstile both running @ThirskRaces on Friday finishing 4th & 6th respectively of the 8 runners. Ponte Carlo also receives 5lbs from Adonius. All in all Adonius set a decent standard, On the Clock 1.01.77 slow by 4.27 on Gd/Soft but visually he looked good. Rlasthope will be sharper for his run and will come on for his debut, But I think This will go to the Karl Burke Filly Penny Arcade. The trainer will have a gauge on how his juveniles are going at home and last year he had some very good first time out juveniles, he will be disappointed Final Appeal didn’t win on Wednesday. An Autobiography by Robert Sangster, his father started Vernon Pools .. some of his horses were, The Minstrel Golden Fleece Saddlers Wells El Grand Senor, Rodrigo de Triano.. little know fact he started Coolmore stud with Magnier and Vincent O”Brien as the trainer.. sadly pancreatic cancer took him at 67.. great book. Uk Foal crops are down almost 2,000 yearly in the last 15 years and still falling.

Training Torture: Young horses are locked in stalls nearly 24 hours a day, isolated and mentally broken. They begin intense training at 18 months — before their growth plates close — and are routinely dosed with painkillers, corticosteroids, Lasix, and other drugs to mask injuries so they can keep working. Race Day Execution: Horses are whipped dozens of times per race while running at high speeds. Many suffer internal bleeding in the lungs and catastrophic leg fractures as bones snap under the strain. Drugs allow them to run on already broken limbs. The Breakdown: Over 1,800 horses die every year in the U.S. alone from breakdowns on the track — legs shattering, often euthanized on the spot with a bolt gun while crowds cheer the next race. Final Betrayal: Survivors who can no longer win are shipped alive, without food or water, to slaughterhouses in Mexico or Canada. There they are killed — sometimes skinned while conscious — and butchered for meat. This is not sport or tradition. It is industrialized suffering, hidden behind glamour and gambling. The horses endure pain, isolation, drugs, whips, broken bones, and eventual death or slaughter for human entertainment and profit.
