BREAKING: Details of special forces rescue operation to save American Pilot deep into Iranian territory: -Downed airmen after being shot down lands near Talkhuncheh and immediately actives emergency GPS, proceeds to hike 24 hours 5miles up a 2000 metre mountain to evade capture where he remains hidden for 12 hours. -US special forces locate him and realise Iranian convoys are closing in and begin to engage said convoys with large AirPower, meanwhile US special forces MH-6 helicopters and C-130s are disputed, and land 10 km south east of him to build a makeshift airfield. -Soon after this several MH-6s successfully fly to the top of the mountain and pick him up under small arms fire, and reach the makeshift airfield. Classically two C-130js meant to evacuate Delta and injured airmen get stuck in the mud. -US airforce begins massive suppression campaign on nearby Iranian units, whilst special forces team hunker down for three hours eventually being saved by three AFSOC Dash 8 aircraft meanwhile blowing up remaining C-13Ojs and MH6s aircraft to avoid capture. Incredible.

@mattyglesias Strategic goals need more than the military and our current administration assiduously worked against the other components of achieving their strategic goals -- namely diplomacy.

A consistent theme of the last 25 years is that the American military is tactically brilliant, which repeatedly leads politicians to come up with ambitious strategic goals for the use of military force that can’t really be achieved.

Happy Easter everyone! There were two people baptized yesterday. Today many elderly came, some who could barely walk, to receive the Sacrament. The regulars were there but also many visitors from all over the world. I truly feel like I’m in the family of God.

@FactCheckAsia @WarMonitor3 We agree. Iran is dominating the strategic battle. US forces are taking hits but nowhere near the hits the Iranian military is taking.

lol, I am not talking about Israel, I am talking about US military objective, Iran can still have enriched uranium, still operating drones & missiles. Still controlling the Strait of Hormuz. That's why now US are targeting civilian areas because they are failed to achieve any thing

@conflict_desk @WarMonitor3 Conflict, the interior of Iran isn't contested at all, it's Iran's ground. For a very limited area and time (going on the story for this) Iran was controlled by the US but it was never going to be for more than a bit.

Certain things will be different for sure. My BIL from North of Manila is super MAGA but I suspect his daughters are definitely not.

@Benjami58210259 @framness @y00black No one in this thread has mentioned any statistics. I am comfortable saying you’re wrong though. Integration takes 2-3 generations and pretty much always has. The reason it seems different has more to do with people’s short memory than an actual change.
