@LiangScott44035 Yes, one of the earliest, publicly known models is one of the images (Ghost Robotics dog armed with Spur). Pretty soon, they'll also be deploying loitering munitions/suicide drones, while acting like landbased loitering munitions themselves.

Packs of robotic dogs equipped with sniper rifles & arm modules on the ground. They open doors, breach structures, drive their master's prey out beneath a sky swarming with automated drone/UAV weapon systems if we do nothing, someone will live this nightmare in the near future.

Given all this, I believe it's difficult to place an upper limit on what these two technologies (also, similar tech in the future) may ultimately be capable of, both in their performance as technologies, & their possible impact on people, for good or ill (probably ill). III/III

Both technologies impact on society thus far, if judged by how they've effected people's lives alone, have been so widely varied, as to be dangerously unpredictable. On top of this, a wide array of usecases & new technologies that leverage both, have come into existence. II/III

What I hoped to demonstrate via this thread: We have two technologies that have been publicly released for 6 years (Replika) & 2 years (ChatGPT). In those relatively short periods of time, both have had a considerable, wide reaching impact on society & technology. I/III

I bet data farms deploying legions of chatbots designed to engage people in online communication, specifically to harvest data from them, will be a thing. "We don't have data point X from online population Y." "Deploy 100,000 bots using deepfakes package E, targeting psychological types 1 thru 44."
