When a major event or tragedy happens, and dominates the news, charity communicators have an important role to swiftly steer and articulate our charity's response. I've written about five things to prioritise for @CharityComms

Do you know of a #CommunityCentre which is a hub for creativity / culture? Maybe it hosts community art projects or has visiting artists? Maybe it has a programme of art, dance, theatre and music? Am writing an article for Community Centres Week and looking for examples. Thanks!

💰Plus budgets remain tight - the comms budget stayed the same for 42% of participants in the last year ⚡️And looking to the future, we know we need our comms to be even faster, snappier and more convenient Looking forward to hearing more at the @CharityComms webinar today

New #CommsBenchmark research from @CharityComms finds: 💡Comms pros feel that comms has a good standing and a strategic part in their org (great news) 🔥But top barriers to achieving comms goals continue to be competing priorities, firefighting & a lack of integrated processes

How has comms changed over the past five years? With the help of @nfp_Research, we’ve taken the temperature of comms to create a new version of our Communications Benchmark. Today’s blog gives a taster of some of the findings. 👇 #CommsBenchmark bit.ly/41Oa3LK

Running a charity workshop today called "What are we definitely not going to do this year?" I think it's definitely going to have 'Throw your homework onto the fire vibes'. Can't wait.

@DrRichardBerks I also recommend more of a deep dive every quarter or after major announcements. And also sharing how things have gone with your wider team - so they can see how their help with comms has made a difference.

@DrRichardBerks So important. I always recommend a monthly review to clients and have also helped orgs to build this into their way of working. Key points to cover are a review of delivery against objectives, what's worked well / what could be done differently, and lessons learnt for next month

Where my #charity Chartered PRs at? I'm hunting for a charity comms pro who got Chartered in the last year to 18 months to take part in an online event I'm organising. Wave in my direction if that's you...

This thread has made me laugh and wince. So many organisations feel they should do something, because it’s expected. But doing something - the right thing - can be done without fanfare, at any time and can make more of a difference.
