Y’all keep trying to say I’m changing the definition of manipulation & im trying to understand why. When you manipulate someone, you are attempting to control them to get a desired outcome. When you control someone, you are gaining power. MANIPULATION REQUIRES A POWER DYNAMIC.

Toddlers can not manipulate adults because manipulation involves a power imbalance or the creation of one. It is a skill. Simply lying is not being manipulative. Those two things are not synonymous. A child can lie. That lie may result in them getting something they want.
