CBC Exposes Canada’s Role in Financing Occupation While the world watches Gaza burn, a quieter horror unfolds daily in the occupied West Bank — night raids, burned olive groves, families driven from their homes. CBC’s The Fifth Estate has now pulled back the curtain on something even darker: how Canadian charitable dollars are helping fund this violence. Their investigation, “Funding the Occupation,” traces millions in tax-deductible donations from Canadian charities to Israeli groups that arm settlers, support soldiers, and entrench apartheid. But the evidence is undeniable: tax-subsidized “charity” money is fueling land theft, settler terrorism, and the erasure of Palestinian life. Organizations mentioned in the documentary include: Mizrahi Canada, JNF Canada, Canadian Zionist Cultural Association, Friends of the IDF Canada, Har Hebron Fund, and Regavim (the latter accepts donations from Canadians and invoices from Mizrahi Canada). Interesting to note former Israeli PM Olmert quote: "In the West Bank, war crimes are committed on a daily basis..." Watch and judge for yourself. 📺 Funding the Occupation — CBC’s The Fifth Estate, now streaming on CBC-TV, YouTube, and CBC Gem. Thank CBC for producing and airing this fifthtips@cbc.ca and ombud@cbc.ca And if you believe Canadian charities shouldn’t bankroll war crimes, you can call on the CRA to investigate: 👉 Submit complaint here -- actionnetwork.org/letters/cra-it…

On this day, 29 October 2000, 14-year-old Palestinian Faris Odeh stood alone in front of an Israel Defense Forces tank in Gaza and threw a stone at it, during the second intifada against Israeli occupation Associated Press photographer Laurent Rebours took an iconic photo of this "David and Goliath" moment. Odeh had begun skipping school in order to throw stones at Israeli tanks, despite his parents doing everything they could to try to stop him: locking him in his room, beating him, and even tying him up. Because of these punishments, he tried to avoid being photographed. His mother, Anam Odeh, later recalled: "he was afraid that if he was filmed on TV his father would see him, so he'd run away from the cameras. One day, after I'd gone and dragged him away from the clashes every day for a week, I told him: 'Okay, you want to throw stones? Fine. But at least hide behind something! Why do you have to be at the very front, even farther up than the older kids?' And he said, 'I'm not afraid.' " Ten days later, on 8 November, Odeh was again throwing stones at the Karni crossing when he was shot in the neck by Israeli troops. Soldiers left him to bleed on the ground, as he was so close to the tank that his friends could not retrieve his body until an hour later. He was pronounced dead on arrival at hospital. Of the photograph, his mother reports: "When I see his picture my heart is torn to pieces… I guess I feel proud for him being called a hero, standing in front of a tank and all that. But when I see his classmates come around after school, all I can do is cry." The state of Israel at the UN call Francesca Albanese "a witch"... This is how they treat UN officials unmasking their crimes. Her response is perfect. Imagine what lies they make up about Palestinians when they accuse respected UN figures of witchcraft.....

Last Thurs, the Trump admin announced it is opening the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge to oil and gas drilling, which sits on Inupiaq and Gwich’in land. The Gwich’in consider the land sacred and rely on the caribou migration. npr.org/2025/10/24/nx-…
