L'IA de Twitter/Elon Musk était annoncée différente, plus libre, moins bien pensante. Catastrophe ! La machine contredit les certitudes des MAGA, et on suspecte une trahison. En France, c'est Xavier Azalbert de France Soir qui en fait les frais. youtu.be/tBD2cu56iWU

10/🚨It get's worse. Blockchain Capital LLC was co-founded by Steve Bannon pal Brock Pierce, a major crypto advocate, perennial presidential candidate, and close friend of Eric Adams. Pierce has dozens of other shady MAGA/Russia ties as well. @cryptadamist/113472115447080382" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">universeodon.com/@cryptadamist/…

5/Bluesky’s most recent funding round was provided by Blockchain Capital LLC. What do those folks want from their investment? I don’t know. But that’s the question to be asking. Crypto money outspent Big Oil in this cycle … to the tune of $200mm.

@Dirque_L Indeed. Also works for uniform quantization, other ditherings (e.g. triangular), and of great interest to build quantized random embeddings as well as for quantized compressive sensing. Gray and Neuhoff are I guess the first who fully characterized the interest dithering in SP.

Just learned: Adding randomness before quantization helps! One-bit quantization of X is sign(X). If |X|≤c then it's better to store sign(X+Y) where Y is uniformly distributed on [-c,c]! Why? We still have E[X] = E[c*sign(X+Y)] 1/n en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dither

A large fraction of my (and many other's) work rely on using google scholar. But do you know how many people work at google scholar? it grew from 2 people in 2004 when it launched to 9 in 2014 (se below). I doubt it more than doubled since then. (1/2) nature.com/articles/natur…
