With the release of a second ‘open letter’ to Autodesk, this time from Nordic architectural associations which represent 14,000 architects, we explore what this means for Autodesk, AEC firms, and the AEC software industry as a whole aecmag.com/bim/a-tale-of-… #Revit #autodesk #BIM

It is interesting that we can't change the Revit user name when using SSO license. This means if someone forgot to sync, we need to re-create the central file. #revit

Off the back of the letter and to save me trawling the ideas station, what are some improvements that, in your opinion, could be easily implemented into #Revit? There's only limited resources so be realistic... #helpasoftwaredeveloperout

Someone noticed that when you have hundreds / thousands of cores in a supercomputer, the individual utilization boxes in Task Manager start to look like pixels. People started making pictures by doing different amounts of work on specific processors. It escalated quickly.

Yep - any generative design tool not tightly coupled to a standardised construction system is destined to fail for the simple reason they are at the mercy of subjective opinion and never-ending architectural design requests which make code maintainability impossible
Clifton Harness@CliftonHarness

The difficulty of marrying subjective architectural design to objective software can be measured by the astounding amount of edge cases one has to handle. Or enable the user with co-creation tools. I used to think manual tools were a weakness. Now...I think it’s the future.

Why the golden thread is not sewn up in the building safety plans bimplus.co.uk/analysis/why-g… via @BIM_plus "The inclusion of references to BIM Level 1 is a mistake and should not be acceptable to either the industry or to those affected by the Grenfell disaster." Indeed.
