Supernova is live on Battle Net. Here's what changed under the hood and why it matters. The paradigm shift nobody's talking about: Every blockchain in the industry is measured on two metrics: block time and throughput. Faster blocks = better chain. More TPS = better chain. ---------- Supernova breaks this framing entirely. For the first time in the blockchain industry, block finality is faster than block slot allocation. Let me explain what that means. How every other blockchain works: Traditional blockchains follow Execute → Propose → Vote. Validators must execute every transaction before proposing a block. The block slot is the clock. Finality can never be faster than the slot, because execution is in the critical path. Ethereum: 12.8s slot, ~12.8 minutes finality. Solana: 400-600ms slot, 13 seconds finality. Sui: variable, ~500 to 1000 ms for complex transactions. In every case: finality ≥ block slot. This is treated as a law of physics. It's not. ---------- How Supernova works: We flipped the model to Propose/Vote → then Execute. Consensus proceeds independently of execution. Validators agree on transaction ordering first. Execution results are notarized in subsequent block headers via inclusion proofs. The inclusion proof is the key innovation: it allows a block to be finalized with cryptographic proof that its transactions will execute correctly, before the execution itself completes. The virtual state tracker in the transaction pool maintains a deterministic view of account states (nonces, balances, pending transactions) so consensus can validate without waiting for full execution. Result: the block is finalized faster than the block round itself. 88ms finality measured in testing. Sub-200ms under real-world conditions. On 600ms block slots. Finality < block slot. First time in the industry. ---------- The throughput story: With the same hardware specification as pre-Supernova mainnet, the network now achieves ~120,000 transactions per second in burst mode. Same nodes. Same machines. 10x the block production cadence. This is the same validator infrastructure running fundamentally better software. The backpressure system (Execution-Result Inclusion Estimator) ensures this scales safely - dynamically adjusting per-block gas limits if execution lags behind proposals, so minimum-spec nodes never get overwhelmed. What this means in context: - Block time: 6s → 600ms (10x) - Finality: ~88ms measured (first blockchain where finality < slot time) - Throughput: ~120,000 TPS burst mode (same hardware) - Architecture: consensus fully decoupled from execution - Sharding: 3 execution shards + metachain, fully preserved - Validators: 3,200+ nodes, no hardware upgrade required ---------- Battle of Nodes is stress-testing all of this right now. $150K in prizes to find what breaks. Validators, security researchers, builders, and guilds pushing the limits. If Supernova survives this, it ships to mainnet. 150,000 lines of new protocol code. 20 months of engineering. The most significant upgrade since genesis.

Is it possible to scale to millions of TPS with 80ms finality on a decentralized network? Most people would say no. The physics don't work. The latency alone makes it impossible. Yesterday's Supernova demo proved them wrong. And here's the part nobody's talking about yet. ⬇️ ——— MultiversX's Supernova upgrade just had its first live demo yesterday and hit numbers that even surprised the team. With a goal of taking block time from 6s down to 600ms with instant finality, they showed that 600ms is just the starting point. Reaching 400ms and even 200ms is very possible. But wait, I thought you said 80ms? Let me break down what this means. ——— With the full release of Supernova dropping in the next couple months, MultiversX's block time will be lowered to 600ms. Currently 6 seconds. Soon 600 milliseconds. That means a new block with transactions will be formed and finalized every 600ms. Those transactions are truly final too. Since the last update, Andromeda, MultiversX released single slot finality. No more waiting for confirmations like is required for most blockchains. Confirmations? Huh? Ok let's take a step back. ——— When you submit a transaction, it is seen and confirmed by a group of validators. In order for a chain to fully verify and confirm a tx is legit, it often takes multiple rounds or blocks. Here's how MultiversX compares to many major L1: 📊 Ethereum Block time: ~12s Finality: 13 minutes (64 confirmations) ⚡ Solana Block time: ~400ms Finality: ~13 seconds (32 confirmations) 🔷 Cardano Block time: ~20s Finality: 1-2 minutes 🔴 Polkadot Block time: ~6s Finality: ~30 seconds 🟢 Algorand (one of the few with instant finality) Block time: ~2.8s Finality: Instant, no confirmations ⭕ Tron Block time: ~3s Finality: ~1 minute (19-20 confirmations) ⚫ MultiversX (with Supernova) Block time: 600ms → 200ms possible Finality: Instant, same shard Cross-shard: ~1.5s average ——— See the problem? Everyone else is measuring finality in seconds or minutes. MultiversX is measuring in milliseconds. And they're not even pushing the limits yet. ——— But that's not even the really impressive part. Currently we are witnessing over 500ms of idle time on each block. But what does that mean? When a round begins, a leader is selected with VRF (provable randomness), leader bundles the txs, 2/3rd +1 of validators sign, and the block is now irreversible, aka final. This is taking on average 82ms right now: ⏱️ 1-5ms → Leader Selection ⏱️ 10-40ms → Voting ⏱️ 10-40ms → Signature aggregation Total: ~82ms to FULL finality That leaves 500ms+ of idle time. Translation? The network can go even faster. ——— Let's touch on a few things here. First, the signature aggregation and broadcast is where some magic happens. Any honest node can aggregate signatures, verify >2/3 voting, and submit. The Andromeda release introduced ECP which allows any validator to finalize the block, NOT just the selected leader. This removes single leader failure which is far bigger than most realize. Read more here: x.com/DBCrypt0/statu… Second, with Supernova, execution now happens in parallel across nodes POST-FINALITY. This is where typical network latency comes into play which currently is around 120ms for global distribution. ——— So what's the big takeaway here? The team set a goal of reducing block time from 6 seconds to 600ms and far outperformed even their own expectations. MultiversX will soon see block times of 400ms or even as low as 200ms. That is on top of instant finality so we are talking fully final intra-shard txs of possibly 200ms and cross-shard of ~500ms. All on top of the first fully sharded chain that is capable of scaling to millions of TPS on minimal hardware, not server-grade machines. A Samsung smartphone is currently validating blocks on the network to give you an idea of what's possible. No other network can come close to touching that that I am aware of. This is what is needed for a truly decentralized and scalable global network. This is MultiversX.

Listen, I get that Solana is currently 'winning' I'm not blind. The ecosystem is booming. FireDancer is impressive. Alpenglow is potentially a game-changer. It's one of the most used networks right now. But here's what actually matters: How. We. Got. Here. And that foundation? Built on lies. Let's review the receipts: 🔸Lied about circulating supply, tried to cover it up 🔸Misrepresented TPS until backlash forced explorer changes 🔸Inflated TVL by over 2x to attract capital 🔸Prints $10-$15M daily in new tokens 🔸Network stopped working 8-13 times depending on who counts 🔸FTX/Alameda controlled ~16%+ of supply 🔸Over 90% of stablecoin volume exposed as fake 🔸42-66% of revenue comes from MEV 'tips' 🔸95-98% of txs are consensus spam and bots 🔸$48B in wash trading volume from one wallet in 2 days Every. Single. One. Verifiable. Now watch the responses: "But everyone does it" "Old FUD" "Ngmi staying poor" Same people will tweet next week asking why institutions won't touch crypto and retail thinks we're all scammers. You know why? Because we ARE acting like scammers. Ignoring fraud because your bags are up is the exact behavior that keeps this space in the gutter. You want real adoption? Real legitimacy? Start demanding real transparency. Or keep celebrating the pump while wondering why Web3 never escapes the casino narrative. Your call.

@DBCrypt0 @SasuRobert @TheDesertLynx What is the point of competing when most other “successful” projects are flawed (ETH, sol…). We’re not seeing mass adoption yet; when we do MvX will succeed unless it is unable to survive til then. This plan looks desperate & may actually only be justified by MvX survival

Glad to see you respond here Robert but I think it’s times to admit #1 is just not true Yes, the team may have the funds to sustain and build for 10 years at its current budget of 1/20th that of others But sustain ≠ succeed or even grow We all know that major capital is needed to compete and become relevant So it’s ok to call it what it is. This is a do or die moment.

We speak too little about our meaningful wins We post once, and then forget. The US has learned to treat this very differently. Every day, every week, every month, people are proudly reminding me and you, about what they've achieved. And by doing so, they increase the value of those shared wins. We have many such wins, shared together. But they often get lost in the social noise. Let’s change that. Let’s make it a simple, common-sense habit to highlight both the small steps and the big breakthroughs. Because each adds their weight and value to the journey. --- MultiversX has achieved an important milestone in European Institutional adoption 🔥 A few simple points on that: 1. It's very rare to see institutions open and moving fast to take advantage of new opportunities. 2. It's great to see the partnership with ICI Bucharest, expand and bloom, showcasing real case studies and real adoption, happening at the grassroots institutional level. 3. This is how MultiversX translates the breakthrough technology into tangible use cases, and measurable benefits for the institutional audience. 4. The cultural heritage use case, showcasing the legacy of Nikola Tesla, is a powerful case in point, showcasing how innovation connects history, identity, with new opportunities for relevance and conversations. This is just one example. Live today. Turning tech into real-world impact. Proud to see this step come alive, expand adoption IRL, and open many more doors ahead. multiversx.com/blog/heritage-…
