I also have started using Bluesky, which could easily morph into modern Twitter someday, with all the toxic algorithms and hateful content (due to being a private, for-profit US company). But it has been a much more positive experience so far anyways: bsky.app/profile/killia…

My favourite, a decentralised non-profit started in Germany, is called Mastodon. I'd suggest downloading the Tusky app to use it, which is the most similar to the Twitter user interface. Scotland definitely has more underground power lines, especially in urban areas, which makes them less vulnerable during storms. Ireland relies more on overhead lines, particularly in rural areas, making outages more frequent. There’s also likely a difference in investment for hazard clearance and infrastructure resilience. This pattern is a reflection of those factors.

Are there more underground lines in Scotland compared to Ireland? Is there more investment in clearing potential hazards in Scotland than in Ireland? Is it due to Scotland's population being more urbanised than Irelands? I'm honestly asking - does anyone know?

We need a radical programme for democratisation and decentralisation if we are to stop everything being centralised in Dublin.

We should also allow each council to decide 1 of 3 democratic structures: •Cabinet System: an executive cabinet of councillors •Committee System: a series of executive committees of councillors •Directly-Elected Mayor: an executive mayor who appoints Local Commissioners.
