His name was Mukesh Chandrakar.
He was 28 years old.
He ran a YouTube channel called Bastar Junction from Chhattisgarh.
In December 2024 he exposed corruption in a Rs 120 crore road construction project in Bijapur.
Original project cost in 2010 was Rs 73 crore.
By 2021 it had escalated to Rs 188 crore.
Rs 116 crore paid for work that was incomplete and substandard.
Two PWD officials were suspended because of his reporting.
On January 3 2025 his body was found stuffed in a septic tank.
At the home of the contractor he had exposed.
The contractor was his own cousin.
He was killed for doing his job honestly.
India has a Whistleblowers Protection Act.
Mukesh Chandrakar never got its protection.

Delhi Police have filed an FIR in the FSSAI data leak case and my name has been added wrongly. Everyone knows I only use news sources and I don’t have any confidential information. I only raised issues about food safety, unhygienic conditions and related concerns. I am being falsely involved in this matter. I don’t even know anyone in FSSAI.

Dear @NarendraModi Ji,
Today, I don’t want to raise my voice loudly. I am simply begging you for help.
There is a company named NALCO in Odisha’s Koraput town. The company mines bauxite, produces aluminum, and generates red mud. This waste is reportedly leaking into natural water resources like rivers.
Due to such mining, the environment and water are getting polluted. NALCO promised to improve the lives of villagers, but they are in extreme pain. They are suffering from skin diseases, cancer, infections, and eye problems.
NALCO’s net profit was around ₹5,268 crore in 2025.
Under Section 135 of the Companies Act, 2013, NALCO should spend at least 2% of the average net profits of the last 3 years on CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) for communities living near NALCO, as they are the most affected.
NALCO spent around ₹61 crore on CSR in FY 2024-25.
The company officially denies any leakage or contamination. If there is no leakage and the company has truly spent ₹61 crore on the community, then why are they still suffering?
Help them live a normal life, please.

Hon’ble Prime Minister @narendramodi Ji,
Food adulteration in India has become a serious public health threat, contributing to chronic diseases and long-term toxicity.
Despite its mandate, FSSAI and state food safety departments have failed to enforce regulations effectively, with widespread concerns about corruption and weak accountability. Even the food standards set by FSSAI are so weak that the same companies and brands sell lower-quality products in India compared to Western countries.
The most alarming part which I know you will not appreciate is that when concerned citizens began exposing FSSAI’s wrongdoing on social media, instead of addressing the issues, the authority reportedly responded by filing FIRs against them to silence their voices.
I urge the dissolution of the current system and the creation of a transparent, strictly accountable food safety authority. Accountability must be fixed, if any citizen takes food sample and get it tested from private laboratory and food is found adulterated then concerned accountable officer must be immediately suspended
Yours sincerely,
Tarun

🚨 FSSAI is one of the most ineffective regulatory bodies in India.
• Fake paneer and synthetic cheese
• Adulterated milk, ghee & dairy products
• Spices failing safety tests
• Harmful food colours still in use
• Contaminated sweets during festivals
• Substandard street food samples
• Misleading health & nutrition labels
• Poor ground-level inspections
• Shortage of food safety officers
• Inadequate testing labs
• Inconsistent enforcement across states
When people ask for accountability from the authorities, they get an FIR filed against them just for asking questions.
If we don’t raise our voice today, we will keep feeding future generations “fake paneer.”

Dear @narendramodi ji,
As a citizen of our country, I believe FSSAI team is supposed to ensure that ZERO products are sold which are harmful to health of citizens. Atleast in the organised sector.
But clearly, adulterated food with high sugar, sodium & palm oil have been sold for decades, which have spoilt the health of an entire generation. Restaurants are serving fake paneer, color & chemicals. We all know this is true. Multiple times, it has been highlighted.
When any of us bring this out, it is purely so that steps are taken to regulate the Food better in our country.
We citizens deserve clean air, pure water & hygienic food. It's a bare minimum.
I hope Team FSSAI will take constructive steps to ensure that India becomes a Healthy Nation.
Hoping for the best,
#FI
