Yet another clarification, 5Pillars does not speak for British Muslims I agree. The community is far too large and diverse for any one organisation to represent them. That said, we do spend every day living in Muslim communitues, working in Muslim communities, covering their stories at a grassroots level etc. And we have been doing that for three decades in my case. And although we clearly appeal more to practising Muslims, we are widely read and watched by non observant Muslims too. So no, we are not the voice of British Muslims but we are a mainstream organisation within the Muslim community which has a significant reach and influence. So don't big us up too much, but don't dismiss us as fringe either.
