Liberal corruption? Nah… You’re imaging things!!
RonDBelter@RonDBelter

Anita Anand (former Procurement/Defence Minister): Husband John Knowlton was director at LifeLabs, which won major COVID testing contracts (e.g., $66M+ beating 18 bidders, plus more totaling tens/hundreds of millions in some reports) while she oversaw procurement. Lori Idlout (Inuk MP, NDP-to-Liberals floor-crosser in 2026): Husband Allan Mullin owns Nunavut Holdings (construction firm); timing of ~$480-500M federal/Nunavut housing partnership announcement (Jan 2026) for 750 homes raised "payoff for crossing" allegations. François-Philippe Champagne (current Finance Minister): Partner Anne-Marie Gaudet hired as Vice-President of Environment at Alto (federal Crown corp advancing ~$90B high-speed rail project); he set up ethics screen/recusal, but critics call it direct family benefit from taxpayer-funded mega-project. Katie Telford (Trudeau's Chief of Staff): Husband Rob Silver at MCAP, which received ~$84M contract to administer Canada Emergency Commercial Rent Assistance program; meetings occurred around the deal. Frank Baylis (former Liberal MP): His company (Baylis Medical) subcontracted in a $237M sole-source ventilator deal during COVID; critics questioned insider access post-MP term. Sheila Copps (former Liberal Deputy PM): Used government contacts (including with Anand's office) to pitch COVID medical supply deals (e.g., rapid tests) without registering as a lobbyist. Randy Boissonnault (former Employment Minister): Co-founded Global Health Imports (PPE/medical supplies) early in pandemic; company pursued contracts amid later scrutiny/suspension risks. Justin Trudeau family (WE Charity scandal): Mother and brother received ~$425K in speaking fees from WE Charity, awarded large sole-source ~$912M student aid contract; ethics scrutiny over recusal and family ties. Bill Morneau (former Finance Minister): Family ties to WE Charity (daughter employed/traveled); ethics violation found for not fully recusing from related cabinet decisions.

François-Philippe Champagne's @FP_Champagne as Minister of Innovation, Science and Industry has been overshadowed by a series of controversies that raise serious questions about his competence and integrity. Central to these issues is the Sustainable Development Technology Canada (SDTC) funding debacle, where Champagne suspended new funding following alarming allegations of mismanagement and conflicts of interest involving taxpayer money. This drastic action reveals a failure in oversight and governance within a critical sector aimed at advancing green technology. The very fact that such mismanagement could occur under his watch reflects poorly on his ability to effectively manage public funds. Compounding the issue are troubling allegations of a cover-up linked to the SDTC. Whistleblowers have claimed that there was an effort to downplay and soften a report critical of the agency's management, suggesting an egregious attempt to conceal significant issues. While Champagne has not been directly accused of orchestrating this cover-up, the lack of accountability in his ministry during this crisis raises suspicions about his leadership and commitment to transparency. Public perception has suffered significantly due to these missteps, with many viewing Champagne's handling of the SDTC crisis as indicative of broader governmental failings in transparency and accountability. The government's lackluster response to whistleblower complaints has drawn criticism, leading to a general sentiment of dissatisfaction among citizens regarding the efficacy of their leaders. This dissatisfaction is amplified in social media discourse, where negative sentiments regarding government corruption and mismanagement are pervasive, further tarnishing Champagne's image. Additionally, concerns about potential foreign influence loom over Champagne's past financial dealings, particularly his previous mortgages with the Bank of China. While not directly a scandal, these ties raise significant red flags about vulnerabilities to foreign interests and potential conflicts of loyalty, which could be detrimental to his credibility and political standing. Champagnes pervasive issues surrounding his oversight of SDTC and the broader implications of governmental mismanagement have undeniably contributed to a narrative of failure in his ministerial duties. The fallout from these controversies significantly impacts not only his reputation but also that of the party he represents, highlighting a troubling trend of ineffectiveness and lack of accountability.

Carney needs to fire him!
Vote Canada@VoteCanadaCom

Liberal Finance Minister François Philippe Champagne @FP_Champagne in Conflict of Interest Over Partner’s Senior Job at 90 Billion Dollar Alto Rail Boondoggle thedaily.ca/liberal-financ… François Philippe Champagne, the finance minister under prime minister mark carney, released on 6 april 2026 a letter he wrote on 10 september 2025, in which he established a conflict of interest screen because his life partner anne marie gaudet had been hired in august 2025 as vice president of environment at alto, the federal crown corporation responsible for the proposed high speed rail project linking toronto, ottawa, montreal, and quebec city. This screen barred him from any participation in discussions, decisions, debates, or votes concerning alto, except for broad measures affecting many people generally. The letter detailing the screen was sent to prime minister carney and also covered a separate matter involving champagne father gilles champagne and his biotech firm bionest technologies, yet the alto related portion was never publicly posted on the ethics commissioners website until this recent release, which raised immediate questions about transparency and why it took so long to disclose. Anne marie gaudet assumed her role at alto in august 2025, where her duties include leading environmental strategy, regulatory approvals, impact assessments, and sustainability initiatives for the massive infrastructure endeavor. The project itself carries estimated costs reaching up to 90 billion dollars or more and involves a public private partnership with the cadence consortium that includes entities such as cd pq infra, atkins realis, keolis, sncf voyageurs, and air canada. In november 2025, champagne as finance minister tabled the federal budget that allocated 597 million dollars for the 2025 - 2026 fiscal year on pre construction activities and 3.9 billion dollars over six years for co development, along with additional funding supports. Bill c-15, the budget implementation act number one introduced by champagne and passed through parliament with royal assent on 26 march 2026, incorporated provisions to accelerate alto, including amendments to the canada transportation act and the expropriation act that facilitate faster land acquisition with reduced negotiation and hearing requirements. Critics, including conservative leader pierre poilievre and senator denise batters, have labeled the project a boondoggle that wastes taxpayer money, imposes heavy rural land disruption, and offers questionable value amid evolving transportation trends, while highlighting the apparent conflict arising from the ministers direct budgetary role advancing an initiative that employs his partner at a senior level. The timing has drawn particular scrutiny because gaudets hiring preceded the screen, which in turn preceded the budget and legislation that funneled public funds and expedited powers to the very crown corporation in question. Champagne has maintained that he fully respected the ethics screen and took no part in alto specific matters, yet the finance ministers overarching responsibility for the budget means his office still oversaw the allocation of billions in taxpayer resources to the project, creating perceptions of insufficient separation under the conflict of interest act. No formal finding of a breach has been issued by the ethics commissioner, and the government has defended the recusal as a proactive step while dismissing opposition attacks as politically motivated. Broader patterns in champagne portfolio add to the concerns, as his earlier tenure overseeing sustainable development technology canada revealed governance failures, ineligible funding, and numerous apparent conflicts of interest in cleantech grants that prompted audits, whistleblower complaints, and eventual restructuring of the agency with no criminal charges resulting but ongoing criticism of slow responses and favoritism toward connected entities. The alto initiative has faced additional backlash for its potential to exceed cost projections, low projected ridership in a changing transport landscape, and the use of extraordinary powers in bill c 15 that critics say limit proper consultation and environmental scrutiny, especially for affected rural, indigenous, and municipal communities. Private sector involvement through the cadence consortium opens avenues for significant future contracts in construction and operations, raising questions about value for money and indirect benefits to well connected firms, some of which have histories tied to past liberal government dealings. Overall the situation exemplifies recurring issues within the carney liberal government, including heavy reliance on ethics screens for high profile ministers with extensive private or family ties, limited public disclosure, and large scale spending projects advanced with reduced oversight that together erode public trust in the handling of taxpayer dollars without delivering proven accountability or fiscal prudence.

The ONLY REASON Champagne recused himself is because he got caught. Carney was ok with it but again Carney stood in front of cameras and stood by Paul Chiang even though Paul put a bounty on his opponent’s head. Carney has no morals when it benefits him.

Critics like pierre poilievre and denise batters call it a boondoggle wasting taxpayer money on rural disruption and low value. Gaudet hiring came before the screen, budget, and bill, fueling apparent conflict claims under the conflict of interest act. Champagne says he respected the screen fully with no direct role, yet his budget oversight allocated billions to her employer. No ethics breach ruling exists. His prior sustainable development technology canada tenure showed governance failures, ineligible grants, and conflicts leading to audits and restructuring. The project faces backlash over cost overruns, ridership doubts, and limited consultation for rural and indigenous areas. Cadence involvement raises contract benefit questions for connected firms. The carney government relies on ethics screens with limited disclosure, eroding trust in large spending with reduced oversight.

If true then this is official confirmation that democracy in Canada is a farce. If you can bribe/convince that number of MPs to cross the floor to create a strong majority out of a mediocre minority (without a vote) then your vote no longer matters.

🚨 Mark Carney’s Liberals are currently working to poach 10 ADDITIONAL MPs, to cross the floor to the Liberals and strengthen their majority
