What matters here is what SMRs actually do in practice. Each unit can power hundreds of thousands of homes with consistent, low carbon electricity, unlike unreliable renewables, they’re not weather dependent. That means a more stable grid, less reliance on imports, and fewer price shocks for households.

@AbiluTangwa We must treat this as intergenerational debt measured in pH. Halting acidification at 8.05pH to restore 8.2pH CaCO3 saturation is mandatory. Anything less leaves them dissolving calcium carbonate rather than inheriting viable marine ecosystems.

Disgraceful manipulation of 'renewables' v FF energy 'levelised' costs by UK gov't. If a financial advisor firm did this they'd lose their licence and be smashed to bits for compensation. Gov't are so deliberately distorting financial reality it's nothing less than fraud.

We discussed a series of immediate and long-term energy measures that we will present to leaders at the informal EUCO. The way ahead is clear. The only lasting way out of the fossil dependency is shifting electricity generation to renewables and nuclear. And electrifying the economy as rapidly as possible. We will present our electrification strategy before the summer. Electrifying Europe means making Europe more independent.
