🖤💔Update, 03/27/24 1 PM💔🖤 It is with a very heavy heart we share such sad news… This is the full message from the Rescue who tagged POPPI #A366044 Message reads: Poppy had surgery this morning. Our vet said it was a long and difficult surgery. He did fine during the surgery, all levels were constantly monitored through out. After surgery Poppy passed. Literally right after surgery was completed. Our vet said it was a blood clot post op. It’s very upsetting and heartbreaking for all involved. Thank you to our vet team for the time and effort you put in. Thank you for giving Poppy the fighting chance. He is at peace and will never struggle again. To everyone who donated, we tried. That’s all we can do at the end of the day. Our hearts are broken. Poppy didn’t ask for this life, he deserved so much more. Because of you, we were able to try. He will now be cremated. As I type this with tears and frustration, I want the universe to tell us why, we will never know. So I can only accept that Poppy is no longer suffering. Yesterday it was clear he was suffering and this surgery was his chance, his ONE chance. These are the moments that sting. This will sting for a while. Poppy, my team gave everything for you, I’m sorry we couldn’t save you. Fly high 🌈 Poppy update. His jaw is broken in two places. This X-ray shows one break, Just snapped in half. How did he get this? Kicked? Hit? Whatever it was, I can’t imagine it was his fault. He is so freakin sweet. He was in substantial amounts of pain. As soon as he got to her vet yesterday he was given pain meds and injections. I can’t imagine the pain he was in. Now our vet is getting together a plan to fix both breaks. He is currently hospitalized at our vet and will remain there until he is fixed and ready to leave. He has a lot of hair loss from infestation of fleas. His hair is matted where he isn’t missing it.. My heart breaks for him. Such a big injury for a small 12 lbs little guy. Community, we need you!
