It's not sad at all, it's really great. They're watching movies. That is cinephilia. Perspective comes later. We all get to be insufferable in our teens. And twenties. And then from your 30s onward you get to become insufferable in new, hyper-specific ways.

I liked Marty Supreme and I thought Project Hail Mary was cute, but I can't shake the feeling that Megalopolis was the last movie.
