
The Department of Computer Science and Engineering, NIT Rourkela, successfully concluded the ANRF-Sponsored One-Month Internship & Training Program on “AI-Enabled Next-Generation Connectivity (Wireless & IoT)”, conducted from 18th May to 16th June 2026.
The valedictory session, held on 16th June 2026, marked the successful culmination of a month-long academic and research-oriented journey focused on emerging technologies in Artificial Intelligence, Wireless Networks, and the Internet of Things (IoT).
The program witnessed enthusiastic participation from nearly 130 participants in hybrid mode, including students, research scholars, and faculty members representing institutions from various states across India.
Throughout the internship, participants engaged in expert lectures, hands-on training sessions, simulation-based learning, technical discussions, and project-oriented activities. The program provided a unique platform for participants to strengthen their technical expertise, gain exposure to cutting-edge technologies, and interact with eminent academicians, researchers, and industry experts.
One of the major highlights of the internship was the project development phase, during which participants developed innovative solutions addressing real-world challenges in AI, wireless communication, IoT, intelligent transportation, smart agriculture, cybersecurity, and smart environments. The projects demonstrated exceptional creativity, technical competence, and practical relevance, reflecting the dedication, innovation, and hard work of the participants.
Outstanding projects were recognized and awarded during the valedictory ceremony by Prof. Bibhudatta Sahoo, Head of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, and Prof. Arun Kumar, Course Coordinator.
