My friend @nmillerche in Japan sent me a Japanese remake of the first three games from the series where I got my name, Ace Attorney. Honored I've been able to reconnect with someone from grade school through gaming. Duolingo time lol.

the great thing about katakana is that it allows you to immediately recognize certain loan words, such as マスク which is mask but also Musk so there’s never any confusion especially at a time like this

I just learned that “bento” (弁当), as in the box lunch, uses “ben” 弁 meaning “dialect” and not “ben” 便 meaning “convenient,” and I am irrationally annoyed.
