The Skrmetti decision is a travesty, but it is limited to the medical context for minors and does not bless all discrimination against transgender people. We also have other arguments against these bans. Transgender youth, please know that we love you and will fight for you.

However, today’s decision is not the end. We will continue to fight on behalf of our plaintiffs and other transgender servicemembers to see justice done. History will judge this animus-laden policy and today’s unreasoned decision for the dark stains on our nation that they are.
