@TakeTakeTakeApp After closing+reopening, same error. After uninstalling+installing, it passed that step but ended on a screen "Unable to connect - the server is taking too long to response ... Try again" So I tried again, and no error this time, but ends up on the same screen to onboard 🤷‍♂️

@TakeTakeTakeApp I received an email that says I made it off the waitlist but when I follow the steps it says "login failed" and I can't access 🙁

@davidllada Sad news for Chess, as some things are broken beyond repair 😔 You're brave for trying. 🙇 5 years is long enough combating this Goliath. I wish you well 🤗

This will be my last month working with the International Chess Federation. On November 10, after the Grand Swiss, I will part ways with the organisation. I joined 5 years ago with the ambition of changing the way FIDE did many things. I failed big time, but it was worth trying.

@thestrongchess I only move without responding if I feel the draw offer was "insulting". Otherwise I always respectfully say "let's keep playing" while making my move. That said, if my opponent makes a move I understand it's a draw refusal, this guy was so salty lol.

Moving without responding is the normal thing to do and maintains quiet in the playing hall. Once in a long while someone does not understand this and it creates an awkward situation. But silence is still the normal move.
FM Tomas Kapitanchuk@FMChessMVP

As usual, I made a move without responding. He asked, 'Do you accept or not?' to which I replied, 'No, I'm continuing to play.' In a somewhat aggressive tone, he said, "Responding whether you accept or not is a sign of respect. We used to do it in my time." Opinions?

@Sam_Copeland I would name it A Clearance for Boden, but maybe a simpler popular name would be Sac Sac Mate 🙃

@MauriceAshley If it was Black to move, every move hangs mate except h3 or Bishop anywhere... so it must be Rh1 😊

@chesscom No, you didn't. Until you analyze the game, you can call it "sacrifice".

@natesolon I'm torn between beating Kamsky at chess960 and mating with K+2N vs K. Both very suspicious of course but once in a lifetime achievements nonetheless!

@zetxek I've seen maps like these before and even though the general comparison is correct, they don't show all the train lines in USA. I have a train from St Paul and Duluth (historical railway junction btw) and no line is shown at Duluth on that map!

@elonmusk Let me predict the consequences of this poll: If „yes“, Elon will be CEO for a few months longer until he finds a devoted successor. If „no“, Elon will be CEO for a few months longer until he finds a devoted successor.
