DLSS 5 is amazing! It's something I have been thinking of in the last 10 years. Recently with the advances in AI I knew that it was possible and surprised it took this long. Kudos @nvidia ! If anything, Nvidia should pursue photorealism even more with the help of AI.

@m2oba It overrides what's seen in the terminal. You can check by typing /effort. There wasn't even a max setting in claude code terminal a couple days ago. Still there's no need to set it manually in settings.json anymore. I'll send a post that reflects this update.

@permaximum88 For me setting effort level to max in the settings.json doesn’t work, it just uses medium instead.
I had to set my terminal alias to use the max effort flag instead.
I’m curious if it’s a bug specific to native windows install or something

"High" effort makes a big difference and here I'm using it at "max" effort along with a 128k thinking budget. Now with 1 million context. Maximum intelligence :)

I can't emphasize enough how important this change is. It'll make a huge difference in the real world. Opus 4.6 is amazing at long context unlike other models and finally it's cheap. Congrats @AnthropicAI !

xAI and Meta's AI division seem to be done. I don't think Chinese companies were ever really competitive in the race to AGI. So, only 3 left. Anthropic, OpenAI, and Google DeepMind. The next Opus release is critical. If it's another step change, I expect Anthropic to close the loop on AI researcher automation within a year. It should only take a couple years to reach AGI after that. OpenAI seems to be right behind. GDM's jack-of-all-trades approach is a huge mistake though. AGI cannot be created by human researchers alone and automating a high-level AI researcher is the only path towards that.

We built it for ourselves first. Code output per Anthropic engineer is up 200% this year and reviews were the bottleneck
Personally, I’ve been using it for a few weeks and have found it catches many real bugs that I would not have noticed otherwise
