Impulse: The C(reator)TO, aka Impulse v2.0 Impulse is and was always meant to be a creative outlet for myself and anyone working on it. From the start, it was also important to stay flexible and keep pivoting when things stop making sense. If you are not willing to pivot, you end up defending ideas that are already dead. There were always certain goals we wanted to meet, things we wanted to make, milestones we wanted to hit. That part has not changed. The roadmap still stands. The things we said we wanted to build are still the things we are building. What is changing is how we show up and how we earn attention around it. The path toward those goals was never meant to be rigid. Trying things, breaking things, adjusting in public. That was always the point. When we introduced the roadmap, it was framed as a plan. A few weeks later, with the market falling apart, it became obvious that the plan was not the problem. The execution around it was. We were putting energy into memes people did not care about, random Impulse sightings, and conversations with a shrinking group of whales. We tried to fit into a memecoin shaped box because it felt familiar and safe. It did not work, and more importantly, it was not us. So this is the shift. Not away from building, but away from filler and autopilot. The roadmap items will still happen. What changes is how we try to gain social traction and relevance around them. No more posting just to stay visible. If something goes out, it should be because it is an experiment, a provocation, or something we actually want to exist. We want to lean into experimentation as a way to reach people. Strange, opinionated drops. Concepts that feel slightly uncomfortable. Internet native ideas that only really make sense onchain. Think MSCHF, but onchain. This also means being more collaborative by default. We want holders to be closer to the process, not just watching from the sidelines. Not governance theatre and not forced participation, but actually building things together, sharing early ideas, and letting the project be shaped by the people who care enough to be involved. Some of this will land. A lot of it will not. That is fine. As part of narrowing our focus, we decided to skip Met Dhabi and Breakpoint. Not because those events do not matter, but because right now the priority is doing the work instead of talking about it. That does not mean we are gone. We will be back at CatLumpur, and by then we want to have the first real iterations of this approach out in the world. Early, messy, and very much in progress. So this is us going back to the roots. Not just memes and sightings, but creativity that actually tries to move the needle. Not polished, not safe, and not optimized for everyone. Impulse is defined as a sudden strong and unreflective urge or desire to act. That still feels like the right place to operate from. This is and always was the point of the rebrand and the C(reator)TO. Shed your old skin, bask in the sunlight of a new dawn, or some shit like that you know. We are building (impulsively).

WTF is Impulse?

I always dislike when people rebrand something in the hopes that it turns things around. Rebrands without substance often don't do anything, you're just grasping at straws. That being said, small rebrand for @playimpulse coming this week to communicate the funkiness of it all a little better. Less polish, more chaos.
