Trump on destroying civilian infrastructure in Iran: "Well, I don't want to talk about that. But the civilians want me to do it. Okay, the civilians, you know, when they're most unhappy, when they don't hear bombs going off because they're living in heII." - ABC correspondent

A lot of things are happening at the same time. Netanyahu is saying that Israel has hit Iran’s steel industry and petrochemical plants, because this will not allow Iran to produce weapons. That’s the Israeli claim. In the meantime, the Israeli army has extended the state of emergency, so schools will continue to be online, and there will be no gatherings of large numbers. Life will not turn to normal for the time being. While all of that is happening, the Israeli military is leaking to the Israeli media that a briefing is already under way on the upcoming escalation, because it seems that diplomatic efforts have failed, and they’re just gearing up for the go-ahead from President Trump that Iran’s power grid and energy resources will be hit. The messaging right now in Israel is that a big escalation is coming, and that that would be the final act in the war. That omits the other side of the equation: The fact that Israelis have been reeling from Iranian attacks and the fact that many critics are now saying this war lacks any political strategy or vision for an endgame.

Yemen’s Houthi rebels have claimed carrying out an attack targeting Israel’s Ben Gurion Airport, as well as “vital” military sites in southern Israel. In a statement on the Houthi-affiliated Al-Masirah media, the Yemeni group said the attack used a cluster missile and numerous drones. As we reported, Israel’s military earlier said it had detected a missile launched from Yemen towards its territory and that its defence systems had been activated. Israeli media later reported the missile fell in an open area, without causing casualties or damage.

Lindsey Graham: I just had a great conversation with Trump. I totally support his ultimatum to the Iranian regime to open up the Strait of Hormuz and to do a peace deal. A massive military operation awaits Iran if they choose poorly. This regime has been severely crippled through Operation Epic Fury. Their reign of terror against the region and the world needs to come to an end, hopefully through a peace deal. After speaking with President Trump this morning, I am completely convinced that he will use overwhelming military force against the regime if they continue to impede the Strait of Hormuz and refuse a diplomatic solution to achieve our military objectives. If it’s not clear to Iran and others by now that President Trump means what he says then I don’t know when it will ever be. Choose wisely.
