@Reopanottokage I think it's something unique to America many outsiders will never understand. since even their recent movies tend to just recycle old stories while swapping race instead of putting effort into creating brand new stuff.

@Reopanottokage It is strange to many of us too.Whener I wanted to see something I would create oc.I have so many ocs they now have their own story. I don't have any particular feelings about people who change race of canon characters but it's also not type of content i like interacting with.

@seledreams_dev @othersiderflip @denpaarchivist Different cost of living + they price it based on printing price. But still 10 would be pretty decent price, specially when you coinsider how much us weaterans pay in taxes, shipping and proxy fees to obtain jp doujin.

@othersiderflip @denpaarchivist tbf from what i've seen, at comikets, it's super common to see the doujins sold for like 500 yens which is basically 3 bucks. so it's still a big difference

re: the western doujinshi discourse: the reason why western artists don't print original doujin is because printing in the west is expensive and people are ashamed to submit r18 works to printing companies. lose your shame and your drive for profit. be cringe and free.

@LittleDarksie Literally they don't even need to resell it if they don't feel like it's worth it. You can just go online and gift it all as entire bulk and be done. Rather then throwing it in trash. I just post in local Facebook group that im giving it all away for price of shipping.

I’m convinced the only reason people are equating fan artists selling merch to large companies that dump trash in the ocean is bc they’re too helpless to google what to do with merch they don’t want and default to just tossing it in the trash and blame everyone else for it.

@letalisdream In my culture it's rude to come empty handed even to casual home visit. Wedding gifts here are absolutely must if you are attending.

@prty_pprincess see, i’m used to the couple and their family paying for it, you are invited as guests, not just barging your way in, you should not have to pay anything. ofc there’s gifts and money you can give and it’s encouraged, but not forced

What do you mean my cousin got married and it's chinese culture to give wedding red pockets and the lowest recommended amount is 1000 that I have to give him 🥲 I love my cousin but that will literally set me back so much, just had a talk with my dad and held back my tears.

@Its_Bakey @mianocha I do think 1k is crazy high if we are talking about usd, but covering wedding with money recived as gift seems pretty normal? At least here in Balkan it is. Appectable minimum of money to gift js based of avarage wedding price for one person.
