डायरी गाँव (पिओरा), अल्मोड़ा के ललित जी से मिलिए। वे उन गिने-चुने आख़िरी कारीगरों में से हैं जो आज भी लकड़ी पर हाथ से पारंपरिक उत्तराखंडी डिज़ाइन तराशते हैं। उन्होंने यह दुर्लभ कला स्वर्गीय गंगाराम जी से सीखी। आज ललित जी पूरी लगन और सटीकता से इस विरासत को आगे बढ़ा रहे हैं। पुराने डिज़ाइन दोबारा बनाना हो या नए बॉर्डर गढ़ने हों,वे सक्षम हैं। मशीनों के इस दौर में काम मिलना थोड़ा मुश्किल हो गया है। लेकिन अगर लगातार काम मिले तो कला भी बची रहेगी और नियमित आय से घर भी चल सकेगा। ललित जी बताते हैं कि अब तक किसी भी सरकारी योजना या नीति से उनकी इस पारंपरिक हस्तशिल्प कला को कोई वास्तविक लाभ नहीं मिला है। एक छोटे से शेड में रोज़ मेहनत कर वे इस कला को जीवित रखे हुए हैं। आपका सहयोग उनके परिवार और इस लुप्त होती पहाड़ी कला दोनों के लिए सहारा है। आइए, अपने पहाड़ी पारंपरिक कारीगर को ज़्यादा काम देकर उसका साथ दें।
