Hey everyone! 🖖 Time for our monthly dev update! Gateway Guardians (GG) .. We have moved back to the earlier build we mentioned while we improve the crowd system, that has all gone smoothly, so we will update you all with some clips of that build as soon as those are ready. We are also completing some environment updates which help the look, as well as some fps improvements. There have also been updates to the build system and some pipeline tools, all of which help speed development which is what we love to see! A⁷ Tabletop .. We have finalised the designs for our custom dice based on order and chaos, we think they look pretty great! Like everything in A⁷, a lot of thought and attention has gone into making these, we like to make sure that everything we do is imbued with meaning, it’s what being an artist is all about. We are sharing some ‘making of’ clips shortly to show the design process, and why it makes a difference between doing things this way, and using AI. That way you always know that things we make are made from a process that comes from passion and dedication. So those high resolution dice models are off to have the positives made for casting at very high resolution, and we’re looking forward to seeing those! We have also been powering through the final page layouts for the Players Guide and GM’s Guide. We are looking forward to sharing a bunch more of that in the upcoming guides! We are filming the first guides for A⁷ over the next week, as well as a tabletop play session in around two weeks time. Hey everyone! 🖖 Slightly past the end of the month, but we get there eventually, we’ve had a busy month and have a couple of updates! For Gateway Guardians we last mentioned we made some good progress on our crowds with one of our development branches, while that solution is better it’s still not performing well enough that we’re happy with it. We’ve decided to keep working on that and put some clips together from an earlier build (it still looks great). That way everyone can see how things are looking and we can put some clips up on Steam that we are happy with, while we continue optimising. Our crowds are a little bit more complicated than a regular army with attack/defence/formation mechanics, these are effectively large crowds of NPCs with personality types, emotional states, and some other elements that bring emergent behaviour into gameplay. It makes things a bit more complicated, but very worth it, as emergent behaviour is a big part of our gameplay experience. We have someone joining us from today who will be looking after posting and socials at long last, huzzah! We are now switching to multiple posts a week, which I’m sure you’re all pleased to hear 😄 And finally, we are very pleased to announce the launch of our book sales for the tabletop role-playing version of A⁷! 🥳 We are doing this through Kickstarter so we can get exact numbers for book orders and avoid unnecessary print costs, which we think is sensible. You can also get both regular hardcover and luxury hardcover editions, as well as the exclusive custom luxury dice, GM screens and artbooks and prints. As we mentioned before the game itself is free (under a non-commercial license), you can grab the PDFs of the books when they are out! Our tabletop development is funded separately to the video game development, so we want to be clear we are not using this Kickstarter to raise funds, it is for TTRPG sales for the physical bits. If we do raise extra money from it, it will be used for expanding the tabletop game. Our video game funding is doing well on its own and we are happy with the progress there. Hey everyone! 🖖 So a big break = big update! 🥳 We’ve added 4 more great people to our team, all senior/veteran artists and we now have a great senior marketing manager on board. Major upgrades to our streaming/recording space are complete, we are now ready for regular AMAs, along with some other fun! Work on our custom in-house mocap pipeline is also complete, giving us high-precision group based prop interaction for pennies on the dollar ✨ New website updates are also complete and going through testing, articles start releasing this weekend (full versions from the upcoming book). There is a special new update to the website coming up once testing is done, that should be sometime late next week, something we’re very happy to share! Our trailer production is moving along nicely, we let things move a little slower to accommodate some exciting things going on in the background, but it’s all coming together rather well! While trailer work is completing, work on the first module is also continuing and on track 👌 Thanks to everyone who has supported us on our journey so far, we are looking forward to the exciting road ahead!
