THE STONE ROSES • Blackpool 1989

Sewage being discharged into the Lake District National Park and @UNESCO World Heritage Site The EA is permitting up to 1.1 million litres a day and up to 13 litres a second to come out of this pipe. Langdale WWTW, where the pipe originates, has no UV disinfectant, so this likely contains a whole host of bacteria, viruses, parasites, etc., that you don’t want to be ingesting if you’re swimming in the river. It was this WWTW that caused the eutrophication of Elterwater in the 1990s, which caused a big fish kill. After the disaster occurred, the pipe was moved as it was determined that putting sewage into a lake is a bad thing. The same process is threatening Windermere, yet there is no long-term infrastructural plan in place to protect Windermere. The EA is a failing regulator, and United Utilities is profiting from pollution. What is Save Windermere calling for? The complete removal of all sewage from United Utilities entering Windermere, in a similar solution to what has been achieved in Lake Annecy in France. The question is, is there political will and leadership in this country to put the nations interest first and protect Englands largest lake? So far, I don’t see it. savewindermere.com/news/how-do-we… @Feargal_Sharkey @WindrushWasp

One side, Israel, values life. The other side, Hamas, values death.

Two years ago Putin invaded Ukraine and has perpetrated an appalling war. We must remain steadfast and do all we can do back Ukraine. If Putin is not defeated he will threaten more countries. Russia must lose.
