This is a prime example of government overreach at its worst. When you buy a diesel vehicle, you're already hit with a "climate tax" in the form of mandatory aftertreatment systems that have a built-in life limit. Then, once the vehicle exceeds that useful life, you're forced to pay the same climate taxes all over again. This is an outrageous double tax on every diesel owner!I It's long past time to abolish these climate taxes—especially for vehicles that have outlasted the emissions systems' designed lifespan. Imposing recurring fees on aging emissions systems is nothing short of a slap in the face to hard-working Americans.
