5 January 1976. 1st episode of Paddington was broadcast on BBC1. It was based on the Paddington Bear books by Michael Bond and narrated by Michael Hordern. In all 56 episodes and 3 specials aired until 18 April 1980.

@FXMC1957 Filmed for many years at Riverside Studios in Hammersmith.

2 January 1962. 1st episode of the police drama series Z Cars was broadcast on BBC TV. It focused on the mobile police force in fictional Newtown based on Kirkby, Lancashire. A total of 801 episodes were broadcast ending on 20 September 1978.

@FXMC1957 A couple of years ago they put speed bumps along Colet Gardens where the opening credits were filmed. I remember thinking, 'Regan would not be best pleased'.

2 January 1975. 1st episode of The Sweeney was broadcast on ITV. It focused on 2 members of the Flying Squad: Detective Inspector Jack Regan (John Thaw) and Detective Sergeant George Carter (Dennis Waterman). There were 53 episodes until 28 December 1978.

@Capturing_Soho Quite a lot. Its been in the pipeline for many years, operated by AEG, so they know the business. Its says opening in 2026, but I assume towards the back end of. Looking forward to seeing what they have done. Personally, I hate the sponsorship deal - but maybe thats just me.
