Do you have any unique experiences that have made you a better writer?

@KrisSchnee Very cool! Can definitely relate to the high school essays; what doesn't kill you staying up all night before a deadline makes you stronger

@scribophile Working closely with the wonderful and patient Gay Haldeman, wife of author Joe Haldeman, who volunteered at the college's writing workshop. Also, being made to crank out many 500, 750, and 1000-word essays by high school English teachers.
