Ibrahim Mahama’s Damang Gold Mine Limited sells 100% of its first gold output to GoldBod, BoG in historic move
30th April, 2026
In a bid to support foreign reserves accumulation, Ibrahim Mahama’s Damang Gold Mine Ltd. has sold 100% of its first gold output to the Ghana Gold Board.
The Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Gold Board, Sammy Gyamfi esq., received a team from Damang Gold Mine led by Mr. Ibrahim Mahama at the GoldBod Assay Laboratory in Accra earlier today, where he briefed the media about the historic transaction.
He noted that having Ghanaians at the helm of the country’s minerals and mining sector is key to maximizing national benefits, local value retention and economic transformation.
The Chief Executive Officer bemoaned the low contribution of large-scale mining companies to foreign reserve accumulation efforts of government and urged other large-scale mining companies to emulate the good example set by the Damang Gold Mine. This he said is imperative for the actualization of the objects of the Ghana Accelerated National Reserve Accumulation Program (GANRAP) launched by government and approved by Parliament.
The first output of the Damang Gold Mine delivered to the GoldBod today is about 110KG. The gold will be assayed, valued and purchased by the GoldBod for and on behalf of the Bank of Ghana, refined and added to the Central Bank’s gold holdings.

😂😂😂 Low-IQ NPP boy @tech_twi has blocked me after just one reply!
I only told him the truth: his koko brain twists “will invest” into “already spent”, expects AI centre in 2 weeks, then comes to lecture Minister about governance.

English

@tech_twi This isn’t new information. The Google Career Certificates have been around since 2020. It’s good to share, but let’s present it as a reminder rather than something recent.

English

Those people tagging me in that post, that Google Career Certificate that Google Africa posted and Sam George quoted has been around since 2020. It started during Covid. There are many platforms like Cybrary, TryHackMe, and edX where you can learn and earn online certifications. This is why you need affordable data so you can stay online and research things like this. That way, a minister cannot take your 100,000,000 GHC and claim he invented something when he has not done anything for people who already have these online certifications.

🚀 Last week we made History - Ghana's National AI Strategy (A 🧵breakdown of the strategy) 📅 Friday, the President launches Ghana's National AI Strategy, which I worked on as the Co-Lead - penning down the technical details, alongside my team at @minoHealth AI Labs/GUDRA AI.

@tech_twi You dey twist “Government will invest $250M in future AI centre” into “they dey spend am now while we have dumsor”? Your koko brain dey pain.. b3b3 b3l33!
English

No, you’re planning to spend $270,000,000 on AI. $20,000,000 for early rollout similar to AKU, and $250,000,000 for AICC, while the country has faced electricity issues for over a decade. With internet issues too, which is the backbone of all this, you claim to know better but skipped these basics and went straight for the big money.
