There is basically no scenario in which you are ever paying more than about $1800 a year to ride the @MTA. That’s for a heavy rider hitting the weekly caps every week. Seniors and low income get half off through Fair Fares. And students ride free. Even a fully paid off car costs many times more than that to own and operate anywhere in the country. Transit in NYC (and most major cities outside the US) is an immense bargain that many New Yorkers take for granted.

@jambox07 @zionszzn Yes, or at least try to. Just because you went from 20kg squat to 40kg squat in a week doesn't mean that you'll go from 200kg squat to 220kg squat in the same time frame. Your gains diminish so you have to keep overloading to break through every time you plateau.

The fundamentals are quite universal and simple: - challenge yourself - be consistent - get your macros - get your sleep

@prettycritical That’s another thing that puts me off of learning hot to weight lift seriously. There’s so much confusing advice. The closest thing to a “gym doctor” is a physical therapist, but there’s not much explicit “this is what you should do” when it comes to working out.

@yeti_0x @scrunkoelbunko @prettycritical I mean if your lifts, weight, and set scheme stay the exact same then you're not really reducing your workouts. Your body still needs the fibers, neural adaptations, and capacity to lift that weight even if you never change anything.
