I was discussing the war with a Hezbolloïd yesterday and he told me they would just resist Israel like in the 1990s This cannot happen in 2026 because 1) The south is completely depopulated, there is nobody alive behind the frontline except Rmeich and the Christian villages who are now defacto under Israeli control 2) If hezbollah wants to fight Israel it can only do so with frontline contact which is suicidal 3) Israel didn't have thousands of drones and widespread thermals in the 90s, what used to work back then will not work anymore. You simply cannot infiltrate any kind of sizeable force without getting detected hours before and targeted with planes Hezbollah cannot physically dislodge the Israelis nor harrass them efficiently, it's impossible with the current balance of power and technological gap. They are dying for nothing.

And I agree that a lot of the accusations of antisemitism about Mamdani haven't been supported by evidence, but imho that hypothetical tweet would absolutely only come from someone who hated Jews.
