Gabe Newell on Brain Computer Interfaces (BCIs)/Neural Interfaces. Gabe Newell is the CEO of Valve, which is the company behind Steam, Valve Index (VR HMD), etc. Did you also know that Gabe Newell is the co founder of a Neural Interface company known as Starfish Neuroscience? His main focus with BCIs is to make Neural VR a reality; which is 'True Virtual Reality' with all Sensory Perception (Matrix Level VR). Imagine feeling true sight, true hearing, smell, touch and taste in your favourite video game, that's what it'll be soon. According to me, BCI will be the future of all interfaces not just in gaming and the current industry is definitely heading there with prominent companies like; Starfish Neuroscience, Neuralink, Brain Gate, etc., moving ahead (Starfish Neuroscience being the only one focused in gaming imo other than Neuralink where Elon did talk about this topic) My personal favourite is the gaming industry and entertainment industry. Imagine watching a movie or gaming with all sensory perception with the perspective of a third person or the protagonist. It's wild and exciting! Now, do watch the video, it's amazing!! @synapticvr Yes, I agree! I will be attempting to build a prototype soon for a noninvasive BCI I will be building in public.

@HackTheNeuron indeed. People don’t understand that it’ll be the biggest market of all since you can simulate reality and fantasy and with full sensory perception. Early 2030s is the time we will, get this as per Kurzweil; greater times ahead!

@synapticvr Great share. The neuromarketing angle is the one nobody talks about enough. Behavioral data is already being sold — add neural data to that and the privacy question gets a lot more serious. Who protects your thoughts?

My first @NotebookLM cinematic video. AI news of the day. And YOU created it! I had my AI from levangielabs.com read tens of thousands of posts from across the entire AI community here on X. Thanks @blevlabs. Then write a script that I sent to Notebook LM, which just today turned on a new "cinematic" mode for making videos this way. What do you think? I am so impressed. And there's a separate audio podcast and a mind map made by Notebook LM too. notebooklm.google.com/notebook/43658…

This is the kind of progress that quietly pushes us toward better BCIs, stronger world models, and eventually much more immersive VR. Not just hype. Interface infrastructure.

The interesting part isn’t AI getting better at giving answers. It’s AI getting better at seeing, modelling, and knowing when it might be wrong. Visual cortex-inspired networks, metacognition, closed-loop learning... this stack matters way more than most people realise.

This is a very cool breakthrough for Neuromorphic Computing that brings it close to scalable territory. Also a very promising path to AGI or more like Real Intelligence. Despite our brain pulling in 10 watts; neuromorphic computing was rather power hungry until now-

@Scobleizer Please ask him about when full sensory Matrix-level VR for gaming & all kinds of simulation experiences - with all sensory perception be possible. Not many have asked him about this & those conversations lasts like 30 seconds. A long conversation about this with Elon will be cool

I asked Elon to jack me in. He answered back that probably would be a few years with "cognitive enhancements" coming in about three years. When I tell family and friends this they look at me like I have a mental illness. And into another paradigm shift we go when everyone resists being improved for years. So fun. This work will lead to super powers for everyone (and some very scary new human problems that @3duaun has been trying to warn us about for four years). I've explored everything with him and know the huge downsides and upsides of this tech. I'm going to be one of the first to get it. But it helps if you all learn about cognitive sovereignty and how your brain works before you follow me. Why? You are a lot harder to control if you actually know how your brain actually works. Literally everyone hasn't thought about it or done the homework (we've done at least 1,000 shows in those years talking to people about it). I have a neuroscience list to help you learn about your brain over the next few years before you'll be offered to get one yourself. Plus that learning will help you think about AI in a whole new way too.

Elon Musk has clearly confirmed: Next-generation Neuralink cybernetic augment with 3X capability will be ready by the end of 2026. Specific application benefits include: Telepathy: Smoother device control, speed close to natural thought. Blindsight: Higher visual resolution (from low-resolution pixelated → mid/high-resolution), easier and more accurate mapping of receptive neuron fields. VOICE: Faster and more accurate translation of imagined speech, natural-sounding synthesized speech. Full body (Optimus): More detailed reading of motor signals → smoother robot movement, better haptic feedback. New potential: Early support for Parkinson's disease (accurate DBS), dementia (hippocampus stimulation), and even healthy augmentation (cognitive enhancement).

@PopSci close, I now believe that we will actually have a whole Brain Computer Interface/Neural Interface by 2028 (as Neuralink aims too). Ray Kurzweil was on point again as he said 2029 (but Nanobots as the hardware instead of an invasive device).
