@_scrnff Maybe I'm too old school, but I feel like I've already paid the creator my money, time, love, promotion, respect and awe; now they need to stay the heck out of the fandom. Leaves a bad taste in my mouth and empowers those "canon police" fans.

@_scrnff I find it weird how, in some newer fandoms, the original creators have the same mentality and complain about fans breaking up the main ship or making pairs that the original work doesn’t have, then fans say you’re “disrespecting” the creator by writing ships they don’t like :/

i think a lot of people, esp those entering fandom/shipping spaces for the first time, need to hear this: canon ships are not by default the most popular ship, nor 'deserve' to be. that is not how fandom has worked nor will it ever work on that principle. if it did, we wouldn't--

people need to accept fiction is an explorative space not a performative moral playground that’s why *to me* “villains” will always have more to offer in romance than heroes because their love isn’t bound by morality and it reaches places goodness cannot follow
