From start to finish, it took 609 days to build this badly placed 43,765-seat ballpark by a cold and windy San Francisco Bay. It would be home to the Giants for the next 40 years, during which time the ballpark's capacity increased to over 60,000. Willie Mays would claim that the ballpark and its swirling winds cost him 100 home runs.
