You're going to assume wrong... But thanks for playing. You folks accuse us of bias - you have the biggest blinkers on in the game. Jeremy McGovern was good. Very good even. One of the best key defenders of his time. But nowhere near the conversation of "best defender ever" or "all time great" no matter how many times you shout it across the desert. Not even close. And the reality is Cal Wilkie over the last few years has been better than McGovern in his prime. -No real help - McG had plenty -Undersized - McG was huge -Takes the best forward (whos bigger) - McG was often 3rd man up/interceptor (wilkie avgs more marks per game as a 1v1 defender than McG did as an interceptor) -Elite user of the ball - nobody wanted the ball in McG's hands Wilkie doesn't get the recognition because hes not 195cm+ and he doesnt play for a big club.

There wouldn’t be too many better value draft picks than Callum Wilkie has been for St Kilda over the years. Amazing to think he was drafted as a rookie. What a brilliant player he’s been. Consistently elite year after year #AFLGiantsSaints
