Spurs getting relegated would be the highest-profile relegation in recent times. They have just built a new stadium as well. The financial implications of getting relegated will be insane.

🚨 𝗥𝗘𝗠𝗘𝗠𝗕𝗘𝗥: In October, Real Madrid were beating Barcelona to go 5 points clear at the top of La Liga, but this is the day it all went wrong for them. • They had only lost 1 game in all competitions by then, and were in a good position in the Champions League. • Xabi Alonso subs out Vinicius during El Clasico, who starts screaming as he walks off the pitch. • "I'm leaving! I'm leaving! I better leave this team!" • Since then, the relationship between Xabi and the dressing room was broken, which led to his sacking months later. • Real Madrid hired Arbeloa, who got knocked out against a third division side in his first match, by Bayern Münich in the Champions League and could go 11 points behind Barcelona if they win today. • Now they find themselves in the exact same position as last year: trophyless, looking for a new manager, and with no clear option to move forward.

@Only1tommo The world has become a terrible place to live. There are so many examples where money decides the outcome on crimes. US & Israel committing attrocities without getting punished, City getting away with 115 chargea because the EPL would lose too much money to sanction them. Scary!

West Bromwich Albion have been immediately docked two points by the EFL for a marginal breach of Profit & Sustainability rules. The Baggies fighting for Championship survival with just two games left were found to have exceeded the £41.5m loss threshold over three seasons by less than £2m after mitigation. Result? Straight to the bottom of the table, now just six points above the drop zone. No appeals process dragging on. No “wait until next season.” Immediate punishment. West Brom insist they complied the EFL disagreed and acted fast. Now let’s contrast that with the biggest financial case in Premier League history. Manchester City. 115 charges of alleged financial breaches, dating back to 2008–2018. Charged by the Premier League in February 2023. Full hearings wrapped up in December 2024. It is now April 2026 over three years since the charges landed, and 16 months since the evidence was heard. Still zero verdict. Zero points deduction. Zero update. Radio silence from the independent panel. No interim statement. No timeline. City insiders are reportedly growing confident of a full clearance, but the rest of football is left in limbo while the biggest club in the country plays on with a cloud hanging over them. One club in the Championship gets hammered in 48 hours for a tiny PSR slip. A superclub with alleged systematic rule breaking over a decade? Pure silence. Is this the “level playing field” the Premier League and EFL keep talking about? Or does the size of your wallet determine how quickly or slowly the rules are enforced? Fans of every club from the top flight to the bottom are watching this closely. The integrity of the entire pyramid is on the line. What do you think? One rule for all… or one rule for the powerful? Drop your thoughts below 👇

@MartienBall That could go both ways. All these teams looking for a new coach also means less options for United, or they need to act fast to appoint one, which may not be appropriate to take the best decision.

I don’t think there has been a better time for United to make the next GIANT step. — Pep will most likely leave at the end of the season — If Arsenal go trophyless again, Arteta is getting sacked — Chelsea still have no idea what they’re doing and are already looking for another coach — Liverpool are unstable and could easily replace Slot with Alonso Basically, every rival could be starting from point zero. INEOS need to show they have balls and go all in this summer. Next season could be even more chaotic than this one and United should be ready to capitalise on it.

Cost of sacking Liam Rosenior: £24m Cost of buying Sheffield Wednesday: £20m When sacking a manager costs more than a club in the Championship, it's probably time to start addressing those financial oblivion questions in football.

🚨Danny Welbeck on why he did the “Siuuu” celebration: 🗣️ Welbeck: “I’ve scored against Liverpool… now Chelsea. Maybe I don’t score for Manchester United anymore, but I still bleed for the club. If what I do helps them reach the Champions League, I’m happy with that. Not every legend has to still be inside the building.” “And yeah, the celebration… that’s Cristiano Ronaldo’s. I did it with meaning. I figured the United fans deserved to see a proper academy lad hit the Siuuu, instead of someone who forgot what a privilege it is to wear that shirt.” “If Alejandro Garnacho wants to take it how he wants, that’s up to him… but some of us never forget where we come from or what that badge really means.” #mufc

@dipsMUFC That's not good for us. They'll compete with us in the summer for the head coach position. Nagelsmann will be in great demand: mufc, real madrid, chelsea. Tough choice for him.

Still wild that Rosenior was appointed in the first place. Four months into a six‑year contract and he’s off. Big payout for him, but the damage to his reputation is bigger. That’s career‑ending territory.

@R_o_M That's why I said on Saturday that it was a worry that #mufc struggled to beat Chelsea, even away. They were so poor. We must be careful of our own form.

Chelsea surely can’t go to the end of the season with this guy? They’re not even in Europa. Look at the money they’ve spent. Scandalous.

Anyway, Bruno for POTY. More man of the match awards and more player of the month awards than anyone, and closing in on the all-time assist record. Done deal 👑

@AdamJoseph @FA_PGMOL After yesterday's inconsistent decision, @FA_PGMOL needs to either give a retrospective 3 match ban to Ouattara and reprimand VAR or rescind the suspension of Martinez. They cant have it both ways. #mufc also need to ask PGMOL for a formal explanation on VAR's inconsistencies.

Same referee, same incident, different outcome. Lisandro Martinez is sent off, Dango Ouattara is not. Meanwhile Manchester United have one fit centre back at Stamford Bridge, where Martinez sure would have been handy tonight. Nice one @FA_PGMOL, consistently incompetent.

There was a stamp on Bruno Fernandes by Romeo Lavia last night btw 👀 Guarantee it would’ve been checked by VAR and a red card if it was a Manchester United player… #MUFC

@MartienBall If we compare the intensity with which the players were playing in the first 3 games under Carrick, it's clear we have regressed drastically. This is probably why fans are concerned. Players cant hide behind being tired either.

Great result after Bournemouth & Chelsea. We were very poor though. Surprised Chelsea was even worse. Rarely seen them that bad. Any other team today would have had a result against us. Massive improvement required from #mufc in the next match.
