Coming April 15th to Heft! Studio Lemercier’s "The Ocean Exceeds All Memory" exhibition, including new video works and series of plotter drawings that transcribe moments observing the ocean into thousands of ink drops. This series by Studio Lemercier follows the artist’s March '26 Atlantic crossing by sailboat, traveling from France to New York without flying. Conceived in ‘24 in response to air travel’s environmental impact, the journey became a way to create new work in the open ocean itself. Each work will be available to collect in-person on the 15th, with an online release at 1pm on April 16. All works include their corresponding SVG + Ethereum NFT. Hosted by Studio Lemercier’s Joanie Lemercier @JoanieLemercier and Juliette Bibasse @jbibasse, and Heft's Adam Berninger, join us for the opening event on April 15 at 7pm: a short Conversations moment between gallery and studio, further documentation of the voyage, and a live plotter drawing demonstration. yesterday was a hot glorious opening at @heft_gallery loved seeing many new old and new faces. we missed many chances of taking photos of people looking at Fleeting Attention, which is my absolute favorite thing to do👀 art needs to be seen to become itself
