@N27asik @windsurf I ended up using the last of my Windsurf quota to give me a .md of all it knew about the last thing I was working on. Then I switched to Cline. It's not cheap either but I get more done with one prompt there than with Windsurf now.

@windsurf Did @windsurf just hire a rogue double agent or what? I may have to spend my last prompt to get windsurf to deterministically recommend alternative tool to windsurf! No drift, no inventing, no shortcuts!

We're simplifying Windsurf pricing across Free, Pro, and Teams alongside launching a new Max plan for our power users. The new plans replace credits with industry-standard daily and weekly quotas. For the majority of users, this will be enough to fully cover all agent usage. If you’re a paying subscriber, your price isn't changing, and we're including a free extra week to try the new system before you commit.

@windsurf I'm trying out Cline now. I bought $10 of credits. I had it analyze the codebase for next steps. 5 min later, I had used less than a dollar. And they show you the breakdown. Nice. Let's see how it does on some tough bug fixes.

@windsurf Everyone, here are some alternatives to Windsurf if you're looking to leave after their disastrous decision. The fact that they're not responding to your feedback quickly tells you everything you need to know about where they're going. perplexity.ai/search/windsur…

@windsurf I've made it easy for @Windsurf to save face and switch back to the prior pricing model. Here's the draft of the next blog post you should publish (x.com/i/grok/share/d…). Meanwhile, I'll be researching alternatives and un-recommending Windsurf until this changes.

If you go beyond your included usage on any paid plan, you can purchase extra usage at API pricing. Add-on credits will be converted into extra usage at the rate you paid for them. Full details here: windsurf.com/blog/windsurf-…

@windsurf We went from one or two refills per day to four. It'll be 8+ by the end of today. The new quota system is making me look elsewhere for a more affordable usage solution. Please go back to the old system. Today.

@windsurf Oof. The ratio here is pretty bad. Reverse this decision before you bleed out all your customers. The best thing about Windsurf was its pricing. Now you're just like all the others and are sending us scrambling for alternatives. Bad for your brand and bottom line.

We need to band together and write a petition or something to normalize NOT triggering 2FA messages without the UI first giving the user a warning. There are some clients you don't want to hit with a 2FA out of the blue just because you clicked on something.

@SiteGround Well, I’d rather just post it here. Brave browser on iPhone. Works fine on Chrome on Android and iPhone.

@gabriel1 It's not just you. Coding is harder than it used to be. Systems are far more complex than ever before, and getting more so with each _week_.

i feel like i've had cognitive decline past 2 years. by far two biggest downsides are: 1) i struggle really hard to keep code in my brain while writing or understanding code 2) 100x effort to remember things i naturally remembered before please help diagnose, more details:

@Holden_Culotta I disagree. I'm currently using AI to write code. A lot of it. Really fast. Because I know a market need and I'm going to fill it. AI doesn't know that need. AI is not going to unemploy you. Someone else using AI for productivity is going to unemploy you.

Mike Rowe: “We’ve been telling kids for 15 years to learn to code.” “Well, AI is coming for the coders.” “It’s not coming for the welders, the plumbers, the steamfitters, the pipefitters, the HVAC, or the electricians.” “In Aspen, I sat and listened to Larry Fink say we need 500,000 electricians in the next couple of years—not hyperbole.” “The BlueForge Alliance, who oversees our maritime industrial base—that’s 15,000 individual companies who are collectively charged with building and delivering nuclear-powered subs to the Navy … calls and says, we’re having a hell of a time finding tradespeople. Can you help?” “I said, I don’t know, man … how many do you need? He says, 140,000.” “These are our submarines. Things go hypersonic, a little sideways with China, Taiwan, our aircraft carriers are no longer the point of the spear. They’re vulnerable.” “Our submarines matter, and these guys have a pinch point because they can’t find welders and electricians to get them built.” “The automotive industry needs 80,000 collision repair and technicians.” “Energy, I don’t even know what the number is, I hear 300,000, I hear 500,000.” “There is a clear and present freakout going on right now. I’ve heard from six governors in the last six months. I’ve heard from the heads of major companies.” @mikeroweworks
